Carrie - your plant is a perennial wallflower Erysimum & most likely a variety called 'Bowles Mauve'. It will flower most of the year & grow to about 18ins x 18ins. They usually deteriate & get a bit leggy after a few years. You can take cuttings - they 'take' very quickly.

Thanks Kayannie! Yes it was Erysimum - I thought it was a word a bit like Elysium :o

It might be Erysimum capitatum as it's orange

Thanks for the advice re the cuttings :)

    Evening all :)
    Lovely weather here again :)
Went to a couple of car boot sales this morning, home for lunch, did a little bit of sorting this afternoon, watered the pots in both the front and the back gardens, and then my brother came over for a bbq. He seems a lot better, and is hoping to go back to work on Tuesday :)
Did a survey for Ipsos and claimed a £2 Amazon gift card :)
Made Hugh F-W's souvlaki lamb burgers for the bbq, using lamb mince I had in the freezer, and oregano from the garden :)
Bought a couple of bbq packs from the corner shop on offer 2 for £5, with a long date. Didn't need them tbh as we had enough burgers. Still, we can use them another time.
    Bit of paperwork for business
Put a washing machine cleaner thingy through the machine as OH washed a dirty old bag he bought at the boot sale (oops that didn't sound quite how I meant it :o :rotfl:)
Brother's washing now in machine, will peg outside to dry tomorrow.

Tired after early start, as I was babysitting till gone 11.30 last night, as DD and her OH went to an outdoor movie screening. Early night for me after all that I think!

We have decided to go away in the camper van for a couple of days once the Bank Holiday is over :) I have booked the campsite, and we will take most of our food with us, so won't be too expensive. Will need to plan out what we need to take, but will do that tomorrow.

    Still to do:
    Check banks
Update spending diary and spreadsheet after weekend's spends (which weren't enormous)
    Ironing needs doing :(
    Mend my jeans
Triage fridge (love that term!) and freeze anything that might not get used up before we go away / or we won't be taking with us
Really ought to do some housework :o

Hmmm I think some of this will be carried over till tomorrow!
Hope everyone is enjoying lovely weather where you are :)

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores - done
    • Put loaf on - done
    • Cook butternut squash and feta pie. Pastry case already made and in the fridge. - decided to do this in the morning
    • Water garden - done. blimmin snail has eaten my basil seedlings :(
    • Early morning jaunt into garden. Salted several slugs. Launched a large snail over the back fence. - done
    • Run at lunchtime - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Reconcile budget sheet - done
    • No alcohol - done
    • List another thing on Freecycle
    • Ordered yarn for commission while it's on sale - done

Evening squires. I'm really bored this evening! Second night in a row by my lonesome which does kinda bore me. Plus, I spent so long in the garden mostly on my own over the weekend that I could really do with some company!

My default in days gone by would have been to snaffle some wine but I actually don't fancy it. I've got tonnes of stuff that I could be getting on with, but they are all of a practical doing type nature... crochet, knitting, cooking, sorting etc and I don't fancy that.

Maybe I'll just sit outside with a brew. And think about what I want to do tomorrow.

    Have a good evening :)
