Thank you all so much! :heart2: I honestly think this forum and seeing other people's progress has had an absolutely massive part to play in this.0

I finally put my pole up in this flat! I used to teach pole dancing as part of a society at uni, but have not done much over the last 2 years or so. This week, I realised that after moving furniture around in the living room, we finally have enough space to put my pole up again. I'm so excited. Did a few little spins, seems much harder than I remember it, but I'm still so excited to have it back :heart2:0

Oh my DS's GF did it at uni too & used to love it

Happy bank holiday weekend everyone!
We had an absolutely amazing Saturday. Went up to London to wonder around Covent Garden, and then eat at an absolutely amazing restaurant (Gauthier), 7-course vegan tasting menu with wine pairing. It was incredible, honestly so so good, and all budgeted for with some money we got gifted for Christmas. Went back to Brighton in the afternoon, and got back just in time for the gig I was performing in (I'm in a choir, and we did backing vocals for a few songs). It was a gig where a band and an orchestra played Abbey Road in full, plus lots of songs from 1969. We had soooo much fun. :heart2:
Today has been super lazy, in contrast. We did however book accommodation for our holiday in Japan, for most of it anyway: A lovely little room/flat in Tokyo, in a quiet area super close to Shibuya, and then a 2-bed house in Kyoto, again fairly central but quiet. Felt a little extravagant booking accommodation that is bigger than the flat we live in atm just for a holiday, but it was within our budget, so why not treat ourselves a little?
In terms of overpayments, we've somehow managed to make a huge OP of £2,600 this month. Some of the extra came from a small windfall, and I don't pay NI for the first few months of the financial year, but the rest I'm not entirely sure how we had that much left over after budgeting for June. Well, I'm not complaining, that's for sure! Looks like in June, we'll manage to get below 170k, another milestone to celebrate.
Only thing I feel a little bad about is that I've not put a lot of effort into making new designs for my etsy shop lately. Sales are still steady, but I'm struggling to get around to stitching. Work has been horrendously busy and stressful over the last few weeks, and when I get home I struggle to do anything that isn't just staring at my laptop. It's a bit of a vicious cycle, because I really enjoy stitching, and it's almost like I'm getting so stressed that I struggle doing things that would probably help me relax. Ah well, hopefully things will get better again soon.
Either way, it's great to have a longer weekend. Hope you're all having a nice time too!0 -
