Hey Mr SP do you have any proof (i.e. receipt etc,) that your friend borrowed the money? Just for the abuse -if it was me and of course it's easy for me to say I suppose - I wouldn't let it go!

Please do post the responses you get from your application forms. I am really interested to find out what the replies will be.

  • Cheers J20. I am still reeling from the abuse, I won't be sending them a Christmas card, UNBELIEVABLE. I will post a list of the companies I have applied to today.

Hi, re your friend and the £5000, I reckon you need to be honest with yourself and realise that he will not freely and willingly give you your money back, so I think it's time to go to court, don't you?

Do you have any proof that it was a loan, is there a statement with this deduction on it to say that you withdrew this money to back up your claim that you lent it to him?

    Good luck.

I note that you lent your friend the money for a deposit after he had his home repossessed, do you have any paper trail to prove this, did you pay the deposit in your name?

Your secured debt is £21890 -£5000 would make a big difference.

If you are not prepared to get ruthless and single minded about saving your home and not selling to rent back from the numerous dodgy companies that you have been repeatedly warned about, can you [strike]give[/strike],lend me £5000 please.;)

This is one of the most bizarre threads ever. There must be 50 people giving Mr SP good, honest, caring, truthful advice about his problem and the best way to go abotu them from people who not only know what they are on about because of qualifications etc but through actual experience and STILL he is hell bent on this sell and rent ****. I'd love to know what marketing you've seen because the guy who made it must be making a mint if he can hook people as well as this. You say you've tried all other options Mr SP, just outta curiosity could you tell me what you've tried? I apologise if it's listed earlier, i did read all pages but haven't seen it. Just a thought but you may as well stick an advert in your local paper and say "House for sale, give me 70% of value and I'll give you £700 to rent it" I'm sure investors would snap your fingers off and you'd save £50 on what the sell back company would change you and get more than a 6 monthagreement sounds like a bargain heh.

I have to say I agree bax.......I felt myself shaking my head at Mr S_P's comments about making tenative enquiries with these companies.

I know the marketing is all lovely and warm and cuddly, but that's because it's supposed to be. I worked in PR for 15 years and can turn the most unattractive incentive into something 'wow' with a few carefully written words.

Mr S_P, if you made enquiries over the weekend, they are probably coming back to you now with phone calls etc. What are they saying to you??

And I have to say bax, I agree 100% about the advert in the paper - I'd be quite interested myself if I could get the mortgage on it ;)
