Scammed? 001888 7567591

Hello,

So had to call Tumblr regarding an issue so i Googled their number and the following number came up 001888 7567591

They seemed very shady and took a while for them to say they where from Tumblr...they passed me around a number of times and then tried to charge me for £300 for an issue that should have been done for free. I then released that it was not Tumblr on the phone but a scammer (i think).

Anyway, I've just revived my bill though and been charged £20 for the call.

Can i fight this in anyway?

thanks

Unlikely, you willingly dialled some random number that you found on the internet that is clearly an international number (00). Can't see the mobile operator being sympathetic.

You can't blame anyone else for your poor choice.

A quick google does indeed point to the number you dialled, but the site i checked is quite honest that they aren't actually tumblr if you read the description.
Tumblr doesnt have a phone number. Like a growing number of companies who provide free web-based services, you have to search forums and support sites for help.

But you can get an instant customer support for Tumblr by call us at our customer service phone number USA Toll Free +1-888-756-7591.

A phone number system with less hold time in comparison to other phone numbers, call us now for live support from your computer.

Perhaps be a little more diligent in checking who/what you are calling in the future.

You called america so unfortunately you are billed for that. Nothing they can do really.
And for future I wouldn't call a number you find on google. If they had a public number they would have put it on their support site.
