CPW cancellation problems

Options
Hello.
Took out a contract phone online with Car Phone Warehouse in May 2017. When the new phone arrived the Vodafone SIM card supplied didn't work. I was advised to visit my local CPW store. I did this and the sales chap in the store confirmed that the SIM card wasn't working and asked if I wished to cancel under the terms of their non performing product terms? I said yes please cancel and this was processed in store, I returned the phone and SIM card to them and received confirmation a letter confirming the cancellation.

Fast forward a month or so and I received a bill from Vodafone. I contacted CPW and asked them to sort this out with Vodafone as I cancelled the contract! They claimed they would do this and asked that I pass them the bill sent from VF.

Fast forward to now and this is still not resolved despite me contacting CPW and Vodafone almost monthly since then. The last time I spoke to CPW and VF and CPW said they would pay the outstanding debt directly to VF, all I had to do was request a final demand from Vodafone and forward that onto them via email so they could settle the debt. This I did.

End of last week I receive another letter from a company who have been bought the debt from Vodafone and are now chasing me for payment....

I've phoned that company and stated that this matter is in dispute and they said they'd give me 30 days to try and resolve the matter with CPW & Vodafone. This has turned into a total nightmare and I have no confidence in CPW sorting this out and I now have a credit default through no fault of my own.

I'm going to visit the store were I cancelled the phone and try and get them to help, but can anyone else suggest what I should do here?

Thanks for reading and don't have nightmares....

John.

Starting a complaint is the first step. Well done.

Keep an eye on your credit reports too. As this is an error between CPW & VF, you need to make sure there are no marks left on your reports as a result.

Use MSE Credit Club to check Experian
    Clearscore to check Equifax
and Noddle to check Call Credit.

You don't want them to resolve the complaint and still leave you at a detrement on your credit files.
