Spent £3.50 on 2 tubs of Ben & Jerrys cookie dough ice cream while on offer at CO-OP.

Did a COMPLETE audit on my freezers, enough joints for 2 months worth of weekends, probably could get through weekdays using all my stored mince, beef, pork and turkey, some of the 32 pork and 32 cumberland sausages, ate 5 chicken sausage tonight, won`t be buying those again, and other assorted chops liver etc, 3 pork hocks but seem to think I found a 4th and forgot to add it. 7 salmon cutlets, and other little fishies.

Enough frozen veg for a family of 10, I live alone. 2 anonymous packets in meals I have frozen, think 1 may be some exceptionally nice lamb gravy I saved as too nice to throw away, and a ball of what I think is some pastry.

Oof, that's a nice haul. I kind of envy you. Do you have a separate chest freezer? I keep wanting to get one but then my head says, "NO!" Plus, not sure if we have enough space for one anyway, really.

I have a fridge freezer with a larger fridge than freezer, and an upright freezer, think that`s why I did an audit, motor seems to be running a lot on the freezer, wondering if nearing the end of its life span, I know it`s 11 years old in October, as new when we moved here, and don`t want to be caught with so much frozen food.

Did a menu plan last night for next 8 days or so, using what remains of my fresh veg, will not buy any more for a week or so, and making inroads into my frozen stock too.
Do I need it or just want it.

Spent £31.49 since last post. Would like to declare my total but husband may go shopping when he gets home so will do so later.

    £155.77/£155.
    £0.77 over.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

Was going to go to Aldi this afternoon as nearby, need eggs and yoghurt, but deferred due to an appointment cancellation, and as posted above I will hang on as long as I can, so declaring £139 for May £61 under budget, that`s nearly half my vet bill.
Also very happy to report no credit card spends either, some things I like to pay on that for security.
Do I need it or just want it.

Yes, it's meant to be the end of this year.

Thanks Save Dosh, i couldn't remember and had discarded the leaflet.

Just totted up all my spends, a few that my daughter got for me and some soya milk today. So that was £5.38.

So declaring £210 something; out of a projective £250 and a realistic monthly goal going off my yearly one, of £270 :T. I will knock it down another £10 for June.

Really happy with that, and will continue to try to do as well.
    Good luck everybody for June.
GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £123.74/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. One person vegan household with occasional visitors)

I had my last spends of the month today.

€14.49 at Lidl: bananas; a large bag of onions; 2x Spanish tortillas for OH so he can take for his lunches; and lots of various cheeses such as mozzarella, a wheel of Babybel, etc.

After eating one of the bananas from Lidl, I then went to Delhaize and still did hunger/panic shopping even though I tried not to do so... :o

€45.12 at Delhaize: blueberries; strawberries; lamb's lettuce; loose carrots; yoghurt; avocados; 2 high end quiches at €7.99 each ( impulse/hunger buys!); sausages, frozen cauliflower rice; and some cheap beef bones to make soup! This purchase tipped me over the points threshold and I got a €5 off coupon to use next time.

I just noticed on the bill that was I was double charged for the cauliflower rice, an extra €1.99. I can take the receipt back tomorrow when I go get detergent and other stuff. I just need to figure out how to argue this in French. :)

Re: the beef bones, I happened to look at a slightly higher shelf in the beef section today and noticed they had marrow bones and essentially soup bones on the shelf. I picked up two soup bones; one for €0.06 and another for €0.17! The marrow bones were more expensive and not the frame of mind I was in just yet. Earlier on Sunday I got free beef bones from my halal store. I'll combine all of them to make a nice lovely bone broth tomorrow.

    FINAL TOTALS:
    €333.04 / €400.00 (including the €1.99 double charge)
    16 / 10 NSD

I recently realised my Tesco vouchers would expire today, so I did a biggish shop two days ago to use them all - both the money off and the extra points (which for once were all relevant to my shopping habits - there's a first!).

Total spent on groceries in May: £131.11, which is £21.11 over my budget of £110.

Still, I spent more than double this amount last month, so participating in the grocery challenge is clearly working for me! Thank you, everyone!

I’m declaring at £120+/£120. All I can tell you is that the housekeeping kitty ran out of money last weekend and needed subbing. God knows what we spent the extra money on or when. (Receipt? What Receipt?)

On the plus side, there's still £12.27 left in this month's budget with just 4 days to go. I've moved £10 into the holiday pot and have left the £2.27 in my purse - just in case! :D

£2.19 spent at the Co-op but, alas, the £10 in the holiday pot had to move back into my purse for today's market shopping. :( Not too bad though as I only spent £6.30 so there's still £3.78 left in the budget. :)

Declaring now for May - ended up as £171.22/£175 for the month and 27 NSDs. Happy with that as this was a 5-week month for us.

"See" you all over in June.
