Another one here that might go over this months as my son is home for a few days over the weekend. That said the fridge is well stocked after a biggish (for me) spend of £42 today. Spend so far for May is £96/£1200

Plot completely lost here! I'm down caring for my mother, who has had a nasty reaction to the antibiotics prescribed for one of her perennial UTIs. Luckily I'd popped in with a friend to visit her on Saturday for a cuppa & a chinwag; we found her very sick, wobbly & confused. The hospital switched her medication to something she reacted to even more... Basically I've been here ever since, with a couple of dives home for clean clothing etc. and I have less than no idea what they're eating at home or how much they've spent on it! There would have been plenty in the store cupboards but they won't have "seen" it & we're only a few hundred yards from W8rose... there was about £75 left in the budget but I have no idea what's left now!Angie - GC Aug25: £292.26/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Declaring May on £429.42/£400.
Just over budget for the month. Will be being much more frugal in June so that annual budget isn't breached.
See you over on the June thread.0 -

Hope your mum gets well soon thriftwizard - those UTIs can be very debilitating.
Small spend of £3.39 today at the Co-op so £41.31 left in the budget. £35 of that is for next week but I'll be trying not to spend it. Should be do-able as we'll be eating from existing stores - heaven knows there's enough in the freezer to go at!Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -

Just done an approved foods order - got some bulk bags of flour, pasta, oat milk, 2x 1kg peanut butter, sanitary products and few other store cupboard bits for £28.22. I will class it as this month as although they take forever to deliver, i can't see it being later than eight days time. Can crack on with some baking in the half term now too.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £123.74/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. MrSS bought a pack of onions yesterday and DD made a delicious HM pasta sauce with ingredients from the fridge (almost past it pepper and mushrooms) and pasta/tinned toms from the cupboard. So a very delicious NSD for me yesterday. Not so today, but payday is on Friday so only 2 days to go and I still have a bit of cash (about £10) squirrelled onto the cashcard. Need to be inventive about two dinners for 3 for £10 though

Had a few mini spends of £16 +, been updating my sig as I spend. Bought houmous, falafel, butternut squash, some salad/fruit stuff, bananas (for ice cream). To make the ice cream, you just peel, freeze and blend (that's it). You can then flavour as you wish. I add coco powder for a chocolate one. Really does taste like creamy ice cream, but is healthy.
An update on the Iceland vegan burgers I previously bought - No Bull - they tasted/smelt just like meat, well to me anyway. I think they might be worth a try for someone who wants to cut back on their meat intake. Bit too realistic for my liking. Any fellow vegans tried them - what did you think?? Hopefully, when I get home later, I will try to meal plan. Got loads of bits n pieces lurking and don't want to waste them. Have updated sig.0 -
Went to get my hair cut, desperately needed. Mooched in shops and spent £3.96 Home Bargains, chewing gum, I do like to chew when walking my dog, £7.46 in B&M, picked up a squash for neighbour and as I had no cash, a jar of coffee and 3 packs of jelly to make it worth card spends, £3 in Wilko for garden items but not counting that. total £11.42,
My budget is looking very healthy so far this month, much needed though as car MOTd thankfully passed, and vet bill £135, so what saved on grocery spent elsewhere.Do I need it or just want it.0
