Skipton BS Cash Lifetime ISA Bonus - Anyone had?

I saw that Skipton BS said that everyone would receive their bonus by 5th May (I think), I was wondering if anyone had actually had it as of yet?

  • Mine hasn't come in yet. I called them up yesterday and the person I talked to confirmed that it would be added to the account by the 5th of May.

I wouldn't get your hopes up - they won't have submitted their report to apply for the bonus on your behalf until after the new tax year has started, and it'll have been the first time that they (or any other ISA manager ever) has ever done it on that scale (across their entire customer base all at once) and the deadline for them to file that report is not until two weeks after the end of the tax year, i.e. tomorrow.

And then they have to get the bonus money back from HMRC, and set about applying it to customers' accounts once it's cleared.

If anyone's had the bonus received and applied to their account yet (apart from a death / terminal illness claim), I'll eat my proverbial hat.

Oddly I received a letter from them telling me that my details did not match those held for me by HMRC. I've since looked at my details on both Skipton's site and my HMRC details and they're exactly the same so according to Skipton it may have been sent in error.

Not sure if anyone else has had the same issue but it at least means they're submitting the requests so hopefully won't be too much longer.

I had an email from them saying to expect it on 14th May, that was a while ago. Both OH and I have the account and only one of us got the email but I assumed it would be around the same date for both. 5th would be better than I was expecting.

For me the LISA bonus just something on the list to tick off as recieved and a few days won't make much difference when looking out over 20+ years of S&S investment. Still I can see why budding property buyers will be keen to use it towards their newbuild shoeboxes.

    Thanks for that contribution.

No problem for what it's worth I just received the HL bonus so the Skipton might be in there if you check.

Were you just referring to Skipton, or to all LISA accounts? If it was all of them then can I ask what particular kind of hat you are going to eat? Please say it is a stovepipe hat!
