OVO Late Payment markers at Experian

Hello everyone.
Following a technical issue with my bank account and direct debits, which the bank have admitted liability for, my monthly direct debits to OVO were failing.
To compensate, I made manual payments whilst this was going on to OVO using the top up payment service on their website. My agreed monthly payment is £79 however the payments I made were for £80 - just £1 more but every little helps.
OVO have marked 2 months payments as being late on my credit file. Attempting to resolve this with them I have been advised this:
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do amend this now, the contract does require the direct debit to be in place so it is something you will have to speak to your bank about. They will need to have the direct debit re-instated.!Once your bank have fixed their issue you will be able to re-instate this on your My Ovo online app.!
They haven't really grasped the issue. The contract actually states that payment method is by "own choosing" providing you aren't forced into a specific method by the original credit checks.
I've maintained the payments of the agreed amount within each billing period - I don't understand why I'm being penalised on my credit file? Credit file payment history is based on whether the payment was made at all - it was, what the amount was, (above agreed amount,) and if it was made late.....there was one paymemt per billing cycle.
Or am I missing something? Thanks for your input:-)

Another reason to stay on prepayment.Yes Thames Water and BT shows up on my credit file and these can cause problems. Its surprising BT because I am on their basic tariff.0

If the bank have agreed it is their error request they provide you with a letter to that effect to give OVO to get your credit file amended.
If the bank is unwilling to provide you with the letter, raise a complaint.
Provide a copy of the letter to OVO and request they amend your credit file.
If they decline, raise a complaint with those and also report them to the ICO.
Depending on the outcome of the complaint, you also have the option to go to the Energy Ombudsman.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
