Thank you - yes can’t close account on s co sig account.
Ditto withdrawals0 -
The bank wouldn!!!8217;t freeze the account because they told me as it had to have two signatures both in the SAME branch the account was water tight.
This is my whole point!
Bank assured me that no withdrawals would be allowed.
They!!!8217;ve told last week she can!!!8217;t take money out unless I!!!8217;m with her. I even got them to show me on screen what happens on the account when you make a withdrawal/ it!!!8217;s near impossible because you have to tick two signature boxes.
Anyone had a similar experience, pllleeaase???
A short stint investigating fraud in a bank somewhere on my CV.
I've already advised you what to do. Head office fraud department and not branch is how to pursue this.
But if you don't answer questions clearly it's hard to be more specific.Children!!!8217;s names

Thank you, but bank fraud dept saying they won’t get involved as the money isn’t stolen - true. They seem disinterested about identity fraud. Police though, very interested in identity fraud. Let’s hope fraud has been committed and she’s charged. I’ve alteady contacted FSO.

This was my first thought too...AstroTurtle wrote: »if she holds the passbooks, is she the original owner of the account? Because if two people came into a branch shouting different stories and one had more evidence of ownership than the other.....
I assume you mean FOS? They can't do anything until you've exhausted the complaint process with the bank.I've alteady contacted FSO.0 -
Out of interest, did the police not refer you to Action Fraud?0

I have a niggling suspicion there is no bank and no product.FriendlyFoe wrote: »Which bank and what is the product name?
I could be wrong, and hope I am. But things don't quite seem to add up.0 -
Before anything else, you and/or the police need to to request to see the CCTV that the bank holds - people going in and out, people at the kiosks, etc. That way they can identify your mum at the time of transactions and whoever she might have been with. Do this ASAP as often CCTV is deleted after 28 days.
Have you spoken with the bank's fraud team? If you haven't, then you need to. I would also raise an official complaint over the phone - make sure you have a reference number and that you are making your complaint directly to the complaints team and not some call centre agent who will probably just fill out a form to pass to the complaints team, so they can contact you in a few days time.0 -

There are no gradings of dispute. The account is either in dispute or it isn't. The police reference number makes no difference to that.
What is the actual wording on the account for names and ownership (disguise names)?
Well the Bank & branch I worked in for 3 years allowed you to close (Sort of) bank accounts with Joint signatures required.
Effectively once there is a dispute the account was put into a closed status and a form is issued to be signed by both parties within a set timescale, if they cant agree to a resolution it usually just sits dormant until civil legal action begins to remove one of the parties although usually this was to do with couples splitting up or small walking groups/local community accounts.
Also I find it strange your talking about two children's accounts with passbooks. From my memory although I'm likely wrong I didn't think the children's passbook savings accounts could be dual signatures. Only trust accounts or charities/club & society accounts.
Which bank is this with? and what is the product name.Save £12k in 2019 -0 -
