After an Orange contract has been in operation for 6 months you can change your tariff to any that Orange provide.

The idea about changing is to reduce the annual cost - you have to pay 6 months at £30, but if you downgrade to a cheaper tariff (there is a £13.99 tariff available), then the annual rental comes to £218.94 (made up of 3x£15, 3x£30 & 6x£13.99), and you would still receive the £240 cashback.

(If you wanted to remain on the original tariff then the annual cost for this offer - before the £240 cashback - is £315.)

OSPS wouldn't stop you, but Orange may put a limit on how many phones you can have.

The only way to find out is to buy one, and if Orange reject your application, then the deal would be cancelled by OSPS.

Ordered ours yesterday, received it first thing this morning, which is what they state on their website. Phones a bit of a brick compared to the Samsung A800 which we got on the last 'make money' deal but the 200 mins a month will virtually wipe out all our landline costs for the next six months
  • Ordered mine last Thursday morning arrived this morning - lucky I was in as they did not email me when it was despatched as they had told me they would. Also several extras missing - so I have emailed their follow up sales. Let you know how I get on. Phone is fine and will also use for daytime calls thus saving on home phone!

    Received the phone today.

It says in the invoice that the reimbursement of the cashback from Onestopphoneshop is at month 4, 8 and 12, as follow:

    Month 4 - £80
    Month 8 - £80
    Month 12 - £80

I was surprised because on a different contract phone I have with Onestopphoneshop a year ago, the cashback is at month 3 and 6.

My concern is whether the cashback at month 8 & 12 will be affected if I downgrade it after 6 months. I rang up the Customer Service and was told it is fine as long I stay at the original tariff for 6 months and will get the cashback at month 8 and 12 even I'm at the lower tariff at that time.

Does anyone know whether this is true or not?

I don't think you will have any problem if you downgrade after six months.
I took a similar deal out about 7 months ago with cashbacks at 3 & 6 months.
At that time you only had to stay on the original tariff with Orange for 4 months. So after 3 I gat my cashback but was worried that having changed to a lower tariff I would not got my second cashbackat 6 months. Shouldn't have worried 'got the money without problem.
Remember on the claim form it asks what tariff you were on when phone ordered.
I had no problem with osps and got the cashbacks promptly.
