Ours could do with it, but it's positively squelchy out there, so far too wet to put the mower on it. :(

I remember bundling up Penny-Dog's remaining food and treats and handing to them to the chap who used to sell The Big Issue in Bicester town centre, for his dog Marmite to enjoy.

Lily of the Valley advice please. We dropped in at the garden centre and found something I've never seen before. I know Lily of the Valley comes either as pips or potted up but what we bought seems to be a cross between the two. It's netted, about 6" tall, 3" in diameter and appears to hold the pips in damp compost. Does anyone know if we just pot that up having cut the netting off? I should have asked at the garden centre, shouldn't I? We're not thinking straight this week.

ETA: Thanks Lamewolf, you're absolutely right. I've shown OH all the local cat rescue sites and told him when he's ready to go and meet some cats we'll do so, but until then I'm leaving it alone. He's always had a cat with him while he writes, and talks to them about what's not working, so he's finding it very hard.
    Better is good enough.

HB try the above website (2nd time of trying to post this - I got in a mess first time around, so deleted the post and started again)

Don't worry about thinking straight; just you and Mr HB be kind to yourselves and please give Kelpie a cuddle from his Auntie Wolfy.

Kelpie's behaving completely normally, which doesn't surprise me. We always let our animals see their companions' bodies after they've died and immediately afterwards Kelpie didn't react at all; I think it was too soon. The second time he took his time, and I absolutely know he understood. He loved his cuddle, thank you.

Superhelpful Lamewolf, thank you. I looked online but I just couldn't find enough about pips to work out what to do for the best. The netted bundles really are very wet indeed, which is all to the good. I'm going to put them in containers and water them like crazy. My mother absolutely loved lily of the valley.

OH deposited on the train to London for a meeting and a friend's birthday. I'd suggested he stayed up longer but he says he has to be back here tomorrow for something.

I've got a long and growing list of stuff that's urgent, but no sense of urgency.
    Better is good enough.
