You are in the privileged class if you could get loo roll - none seen around where I am for a few weeks when I've gone. Can't add it online either - even for the early April slots. Luckily I tend to have some in so not desperate measures yet!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just popping in for a quick update. Work has been brutal this week and I have been working 12 hour days as we work to turn some services off and focus all our people on priority services. We currently have a third of our workforce absent at the moment.
I will need to work tomorrow too, but today we are going for a walk with friends.
We were supposed to be going away for the weekend but the hotel has had to close the restaurant and bar and will just be providing room service. Fortunately they have allowed us to defer the booking until July. I am just hoping we might be back normal by then.
Anyway we are still going for a walk up on the moors and will be taking a picnic.
In financial news I have paid £65.68 expenses into the odds and sods account. This will be the last expenses claim for a long while I think. I also had £9.61 drop into TCB which I also paid in.Think that is about all, I need to pop to the Coop for picnic stuff. I am just hoping they have some stock.3 -

Hope your picnic went well. Sounds idyllic compared to the week you must have had. Thank you for what you do.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Gosh over a week has gone by since I last posted and what a week that has been. Work continues to be relentless but at least I am fortunate that I can do it all from home. I am very worried about the DC who are having to go into work. DS is frontline medical staff and I worried that he will get the virus and that he will get it badly. DD is manning a helpline for vulnerable people and is having to go into work to do this. I am proud that she has volunteered to do this rather than just working from home doing her usual job but it doesn't stop me from worrying.
At least the weather was lovely last week. I did manage a run in the sunshine at the beginning of the week and a few early morning walks with the pup enjoying the spring weather before work. I am having a day off tomorrow because I am exhausted. I am having tomorrow off and my colleague is having Tuesday off, we decided the best thing to do was to tag team so that we can have a break from work. I can't see an end to this any time soon.
I am slightly annoyed with Mr Mee this week. He set off to do the shopping at @ldi on Friday but didn't bother because there was a queue to get in the shop. He doesn't queueThis meant that I had to get up early yesterday to go to Sainsbreeze and queue despite having worked all week. I have explained to him in no uncertain terms that queuing is the new normal and that he is just going to have to suck it up or starve. I think he got the message and has been tiptoeing round me being nice since
I had a bit of financial excitement yesterday and let's face it we need to take a bit of excitement where we can find itFirstly I got the first interest on my regular savers, a princely £38.20 on the s@ntander regular saver, and then better still I noticed that the TSB switching bonuses had dropped in for us both, which is £100 each. The S@ntander interest will be added to my ring fenced savings but the switching bonuses will go into the odds and sods account. This brings the odds and sods total to £746.85. This means I can chip another £500 off the interest only mortgage bringing it down to £166k
That cheered me up immensely
I am trying to find joy in small things at the moment, running in the sunshine whilst listening to some great music, sowing some free seeds in pots on the window ledge, yoga, and reading a good book. I am going to do some baking today.I will be back tomorrow with the monthly update. Hope you all have a good day x2 -

Aww bless you that is so lovely. I must admit I have been feeling tetchy all week and I think it is the constant gnawing worry particularly about DS, who is dealing with sick people every day. I would have made a rubbish military wife or Mum !2
