6km run done with OH in my fastest ever time. Very pleased with myself
A little rest, then a shower and off into town for errands and hair appointment.0 -
The new dresses sound good - and woohoo for the continued running and weight loss.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thank you red!
Well it's Sunday morning and I've had a little lie in with OH until about 8.30 then went home, changed and took the dog to his favourite park for a good potter about. Went straight to sainsburys and did the weekly shop - spent £37 in total but that did include plenty of toiletries to last the next two weeks to pay day. Also needed drain unblocker and antihistamines that were not on the shopping list so a bit more than the £30 hoped for but nothing extravagant or frivolous. There's now £67 left in the grocery budget with one more small weekly shop to go. I should be able to save around £30 towards the holiday fund
We went to the cinema last night to watch Hereditary - it was ok but nothing special. I paid for the drinks and a small bag of popcorn for OH (he paid for the tickets) - £13 spent - ridiculous amount of money for what was effectively a coffee, a coke and popcorn - grrr!!!
No big plans for today - will probably go for a short run, do a quick clean of the house and then need to do a bit of thinking about my visit to the new school tomorrow and what I want to look at whilst there. All a bit scary and real now! I have to present to the school next Friday about the improvements and changes I'd like to make - hmmmmm, nothing like a bit of pressure
I'll see OH later on but will have most of the day to myself. Right, going to crack on with the chores.....0 -
Shortish route run done - fastest time ever - I'm getting better at this lark and am now averaging just over a 6 minute km, considering my starting point I'm really pleased with that. I probably won't have the time or energy to run tomorrow - long day ahead - so Tuesday or Wednesday will be the next trot out.
Have also cleaned downstairs and cut the front lawn - it's been so dry it's barely grown but there were a few weeds starting to poke through so it looks nice and neat and tidy again now.
Going to have a soak in the bath and some lunch then do a bit of work for an hour or two.0 -
Had a quiet afternoon, had a bath and then a little snooze for an hour. Have done all the work needed for tomorrow and a bit extra for the week. Just back from another dog walk, we've both had plenty of exercise today now.
OH is coming over later so I don't have to rush about this evening, he'll just turn up sometime after tea.
Just thinking about the coming week and what needs doing. I'm away on Friday night at the new school's leadership planning event and won't be back until Saturday afternoon - OH is looking after the dog for me. My parents arrive on Sunday to fly off on holiday on Monday, leaving their bonkers dog with me for a week. I can't complain though as they'll be having my dog when I'm away on hols.
So it's a busy end of the week and I need to get organised this week so I'm not stressed and running around like a headless chicken when I need to be calm and focussed at my new job - eek!!
So .... To do this week :-
1. Write 2 presentations for new job weekend away after visit to new school tomorrow - done the prep work just need to type it up. Finished now
2. Tidy spare room
3. Get clothes ready for weekend away - done
4. Do a quick clean on weds or thurs
5. Cut back lawn if it's dry - done
6. At least 2 runs
7. Clean the conservatory
8. Clean kitchen and living room windows - done
9. Write yr 11 leavers assembly - done
10. Write yr 10 mocks - done
11. Finish observation lesson prep - done
12. Mini food shop on the weekend
That should keep me busy when not in work0 -
What a long day....
Woke up at 4.45 and couldn't go back to sleep so got up at 5am and took the dog for a good walk. Then spent the morning at my new school - all went well and I get the feeling that they see me as the revolutionary whizz kid that can solve all problems - scary thought. There are definitely some things that I can see that need to change though so at least I'll have something to talk about during my presentations this weekend.
Then back to my school to teach for the afternoon followed by an SLT meeting that finished at 6.30 and managed to get home just before 7pm. Went straight out with the dog for a half hour walk - will probably take him again after tea for a short walk as he's been in all day, poor poochy.
So, all the little jobs that I'd earmarked for this evening will probably go out of the window as I've literally just sat down and haven't evening eaten yet and it's nearly 8pm.
Little victories for today - absolutely no spending, used up a conditioner and toothbrush, using fresh things from the fridge for tea, next parcel collected by the courier for a refund.0 -
You sound so busy. Hope the week goes well and the promised lessened workload actually materialises and doesn't get swallowed up in end of term/handover stuff.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Thanks Joey - no let up so far!
Slept really badly last night was awake for hours and tired this morning getting up - suppose there was a lot going around in my head. Never mind, another day at work over and there's just 21 working days to go now - scary!
Busy day at work, still rushed off my feet but at least the days go quickly. I have a lot to do this evening and have already taken the dog to the park and sorted the bins. Whilst in work, I also managed to get my observation lesson all ready so that's something for next week boxed off nice and early.
Going to start the presentations for the weekend meetings his evening and maybe tidy the spare room to tick a few jobs off the list. I'll also get the clothes ready for the weekend work thing sorted out and put to one side so I'm not flapping at the end of the week.
Little victories for today - took fruit etc to work for lunch, finished the lesson observation stuff, started making video clips of staff saying goodbye to year 11 ready for their last assembly and enlisted a creative teacher to help with the compilation, used up a conditioner, eating fresh bits out of the fridge for tea.0 -
Had a fairly productive evening - cut the grass whilst it's still dry as rain is forecast and did some school work then roughed out my two presentations for the weekend. I know what I want to say and just need to type it up now, the hard bit is done.
Just going to give the spare room a quick tidy round and then try for an early night - will probably wake up early as I can only sleep for so long and am toying with the thought of a quick run in the morning before work. Ambitious......we'll see.....0 -
