Another day at work - just the usual, no big dramas today and managed to get home by 4pm. Took the dog for a good walk in the park and then had a snooze in the garden for an hour, must have been tired as I don't usually do that. Nice though......

It was a bit of another late night as OH found a holiday in Greece that he fancied and we spent a while investigating and then booking it. We're going a few days after school finishes for the summer for a week. So, that's two holidays booked and only 7 weeks to wait :)
It's made me more determined to lose a bit of weight and save more money in June. The diet has gone ok this week so far and I'm less bloated so there's an incentive to continue. OH is on a diet and has lost a stone so I can't be the flabby one!
Going to pop over to his this evening for an hour or two - won't be late though as I need a good sleep.

Little victories for today - took lunch to work, used change from purse and a club card voucher I'd forgotten about to get a few bits from the local tesco, used up a deodorant, used up fridge bits for tea, spent some time chatting to some of my team I haven't caught up with for ages

    Evening all....
Thank the lord it's Friday! I'm shattered! Think it's a combination of hard long days at work with no time to wee let alone eat and overdosing on antihistamines - my hay fever is dreadful at the moment.
But it's the weekend and I'm not going to moan :)

Since coming home I've walked the dog in the park, spoken at length to OH, made tea and deep cleaned the kitchen, sorted the bins and recycling and had a general tidy round. If I can summon the energy I'll Hoover and dust and clean the bathrooms and wooden floors later so all of the housework is done and I can forget about it for the weekend.

Some good news - I weighed this morning and have lost 4.5 lbs :) I was aiming for 5 lbs in June so I think I'll up that goal to 8-10 lbs.
More positive news - I've done my expenses claim for overtime for working weekends and it comes to £675 before tax. I'll lose a good chunk of that to tax etc but what's left will go into the holiday fund - I think it will get paid in June's salary at the end of the month so I'll just hide it away when it comes and use it for spending money.

I'm working tomorrow morning for the last time ever (hurrah!) but other than that have no plans for the weekend. OH left today for a wedding down south and won't be back until Sunday so I'm pretty much left to my own devices. I'm still trying to economise so I'm not sure what I'll do but it will hopefully be cheap ;) I'm hoping the weather is good so I can spend some time in the sun.

Talking of money, I have stuck to the spending money budget this week and withdrew £50 cash for the weekend and subsequent week this afternoon. I'm budgeting £240 for the month and this is the first withdrawal I've made so I'm on track to meet my target.
I need to do some grocery shopping tomorrow for fresh bits and dog food but have managed to use up almost everything in the fridge, which is an improvement.

Little victories for today - used up a deodorant, had batch cooked spag bol for tea (so did the dog!), did overtime claim, wrote shopping list, took food to work for lunch.

Right, I'm going to have a soak in the bath for a while before watching the soaps. Looking forward to a quiet night.

Great to hear that things are sounding so positive. :) Have a great weekend.
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

Thank you Chrystal - I'm trying to be organised and positive and to reclaim my finances again after ignoring them for the past few months.

I've realised that I'm not very good at doing nothing - have cleaned the whole house and given the bathrooms a good scrubbing, done a load of washing, had a bath, done a face mask and tried on a load of stuff I ordered from next, two thirds of which is going back. I'll try to take it all back to the shop tomorrow or Sunday so it's not sitting round the house for weeks.

I've also downloaded some more free audio series on Audible for listening to when walking the dog, the last series was very good. I've found an iTunes voucher in a drawer and might treat myself to the new Ministry of Sound album advertised on the telly - all my era anthems :) I rediscovered a free cinema ticket in my purse too so if I get really bored over the weekend I can use that and have a trip out for free.

OH has texted - he's arrived safely after an epic journey - I will miss him but it will be good to have some time to myself this weekend.

Was up fairly early and slept quite well for a change.
Walked the dog and then went to work for the morning and finished at 12ish. Went straight to Aldi and did the shopping, then popped into B&M for dog food and shampoo etc.
Spent £35 in Aldi (including a bottle of wine and cans of diet coke for work) and £7 in B&M so £42 in total, there's £104 left out of the grocery budget for the month but I don't want to spend it all. Will try to be a bit more thoughtful about what gets eaten when so I can make it all last as long as possible.

The sun isn't out here so I'm not sure about what to do this afternoon - it's dry but not sitting in the garden weather so I think I'll have lunch and then go for a run and walk the dog somewhere different for a change of scene.

Ended up having lunch and a little snooze then forced myself to go for a run - I wasn't brilliant but kept going and, on the positive side, completed a long run in hot sweaty conditions. Felt hard today though - antihistamines, raging hay fever and general lethargy make it hard but I did it anyway so should be pleased with that I suppose. I'll go again in the morning, hopefully it will feel easier early on.
Also took the dog to the park for 45 mins for a good potter around and by the time we got back it was sunny enough to sit in the garden with a bottle of beer to recover ;) not exactly Mo Farah's cool down technique ...... :)

Have heard from OH a few times - will be happy when he's home tomorrow.

So this evening consists of watching the Welsh rugby match on the telly and hopefully a good sleep. Rock and roll!

Morning all! It's a lovely sunny day here so far - slept really badly but trying to be positive and put it behind me.
Have taken the dog to the park for half an hour and then made myself go for a run before I changed my mind. Hard again but a better time than yesterday so I'm pleased that I went even though I didn't feel that way half way around.

Whilst bored last night, I ordered some holiday dresses, probably won't keep them all but I hate shopping so it's an easier option. Will see what they're like when they come and how fat I look ;)
Back on the diet wagon today - pretty much had a day off yesterday (apart from the run) and I need to have a word with myself. Just because I'm not feeling fantastic doesn't mean I should let myself go! I want to lose another 2lbs this week to make it almost half a stone so I need to get a grip.......

Not much planned for today - I have a bit of work to do that will hopefully only take just over an hour and I'll need to do another dog walk later but otherwise I'm free and easy. If the weather stays good I'll spend some time reading in the garden, I'm still trying to minimise general spending.
Will hopefully see OH later at some point when he's back but that won't be until the evening.

    Right, better have a shower - I'm a sweaty mess. :)

All school work done - took much longer than I thought it would but it's finished now. The sun disappeared but it was still warm so I sat out in the garden with the dog and read a new booked loaned to me by a friend. It's called Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. I was very sceptical as its not usually my kind of thing but it's actually really good and a nice change from the blood and gore that I'm usually engrossed in :) it's quite short so I've managed to read half of it in one go. Will read a bit more later.

OH called for half an hour whilst driving back - I'm popping round this evening for a while but won't stay late.
Just walked the dog again for 45 mins, so we've both had plenty of exercise for today.
Need to make something nice and healthy for tea - I think I'll just have a snack now and cook when I get back, have only had 450 cals so far today so have plenty left to play with.
Will also have a think for goals for the week and post later. Need to keep myself busy and organised ..... ;)
