I haven't been online for about 9 months, but was delighted to see you are now debt free DIA. Congratulations!

Sounds like you've been super busy since your deb free date and are steaming ahead with putting the money you were spending on debts towards your house renovations. I'm in awe of how much you are managing to achieve, especially as you are doing it all by yourself.

I hope the change to a 4 day week comes round quickly for you!

I’ve had a thought about the weekly budget I blew in 2 days. It is okay. The separate account is still a good idea. ;) I just need to get used to it. After so long having so little the sight of £20 notes in my purse makes me feel wealthy. :o I am now going to withdraw £20 and use the card for spends, checking the account weekly. I am not going to be upset with myself. I bought some bargain fizz and helped a relative, I did not buy cocaine ;)

Getting debt free was a learning curve. Staying debt free will be a learning curve too and that is okay

The good news is my CU emergency account is now at £500 so I am 50% in terms of the target :T

    Drudge done already
    Washing up X1, X1,
    Thai red curry made
    Cauliflower rice made

So sorry sun worshippers but I am happy it is overcast today. I am going to wash my windows at the front and wash my door too. I am going to tidy my front garden and look for a hose attachment so I can start cleaning my car myself.

One of the things I have realised is prior to going off work unwell I was getting 5-6 hours sleep. I am now getting 8. I am going to prioritise getting more sleep as I think it will help me stay well.

Feeling strong inside today. I hope you are too because it is a nice feeling :)

:j Well done DIA on the realisation breakthrough!
Life's too short to worry about non essentials, so if one thing doesn't work wipe it off the blackboard and try something different. If we learn by our mistakes and give ourselves the praise we deserve when we get it right everything will fall into place.
I agree with you about the weather... I stood at the back door grinning like the Cheshire Cat when it was thunder and lightening and pelting down with rain. Guess we can have too much of a good thing. :D
I've been shocked at my sleep patterns. My DD got me a fitbit and apparently I'm getting very little sleep (and next to no exercise :o) No wonder my brain has turned to mush and my body is falling to pieces!! :rotfl::rotfl:
You are doing brilliantly so give yourself a hug and promise yourself a glass of that bargain wine. XX
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

This part of your post especially really spoke to me. Brilliant. I love the visual aspect of wiping something away and getting the chalk out again to write something new. Thank you.
I hope you can fix your sleep issues somehow?
I don't exercise but we must both find a way as so important.
    Have a good day :)

Awesome work on the CU savings already!

You're right not to beat yourself up about treating yourself now and again, and especially not so when you're helping out a relative. As long as it doesn't leave you in dire straits (which it doesn't) then I think you did the right thing :)

In terms of the exercise thing, do you have a friend that you could exercise with? Whether it's going out for a run/ walk or going to the gym or for a swim? I find making exercise social a massive motivator for me. I like chatting to my friend while running - it's much more enjoyable than clock watching!

If the irritating overbearing builder and I fall out then at least I will be a step closer to moving and I won!!!8217;t have to see him again anyway

Always look on the positives! Also he can't not text you back because he lives near you. Win win really. Good idea on having him do something outside to start with though...

Massive well done on the £500 savings! That's brilliant... Also am very glad you are getting a more restful/ long sleep. I go to sleep before 11 now and it's the best decision I've made in years :o it just feels so good waking up rested. Sometimes I do need to force myself to put my book down though, but that will probably never change!

Thanks Homegrown0. I've gone off swimming in pools and the gym :o
I am thinking of going for a walk when I wake up. There is a coffee shop that opens really early that I could power walk to, have a coffee and walk back home before WFH. Thanks for the nudge :)

I am going to start going to bed earlier. I definitely feel better (and look more rested) with more sleep. Thanks lonelyrat :)

Today I have washed up, dried and packed away 5 draining boards worth and that gives you a glimpse of previous kitchen disorder. I also washed a load and it is drying outside. I ran a hot wash empty with a hot wash and vinegar too.

The good news is my living room has been clean, tidy and clutter free for weeks now :)

I searched for a building firm on the trading standards and government website but the one I liked said it was too far for him to travel so that did not work. I am plucking up courage to speak to the builder on my road to see if he can give me a quote for some outside brickwork to start with as I feel I have stalled with work on the house being done.

I threw away some gluten free bread. I now know that GF processed products play havoc with blood sugar

Beanielou posted about getting new glasses. Today I am going to make an appointment to get my eyes tested. This time I will not cancel.

I hope you are all having a good day :)
