Plus my experience of plasterers is they are a bit special. Give him the benefit to n terms of the quote. But nail him down on a start date
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Drawingaline’s posting reminded me to try checkathingy again. I have to stop being a big baby and that is where I found my roofer who is great.

Thanks Mark88, you are probably right but I had an instinct thing so for once I am going to trust my gut feeling and let him go.

Greenbee, you are right too but I know I will go mad and if I ‘lose it’ I still have to face him every day on the road so I’ll leave him as a last resort…

I realise it isn’t just the kitchen so no point in getting it all done by the Swedish store as my mission is to collate an assortment of trusted, good workman (who don’t send my stress levels through the roof) That way I can use them as and when to get the house done. ;)

    TODAY

I called for a new quote and have a new plasterer who is due to come on Monday :T

The roofer has been and quoted me to fill the squirrel holes this morning and wire to prevent entry again, EVER. He will be able to do the work next week and the price was confirmed :T

    Chased the electrician

Funny how time stretches. It feels like I have been back home for an age and when I look back it is just two and a half weeks. I desperately need a break somewhere where I can switch off from work/house/family stress :(

Hope your day is going well :)

You really are on a roll with all those quotes, even if you can't control them actually turning up. Just got to keep rolling the dice and hoping for sixes I think.

(Or as my husband says, keep throwing mud at the wall - eventually some will stick)

I think definitely better to go with your gut... If he flakes out on a quote then it would make me concerned about him actually turning up to do the work. Glad you have another one due, fingers will be crossed this is 'the one' haha.

Thanks lonelyrat, I've learnt to go with my gut when I don't I end up saying 'I should have...'

It is nice to wake up and realise the day belongs to me and I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything :)

Nothing planned for today. Nope nada. Happy to nap and do this and that.

    FROG
My hoover was used without a bag for a long time and when I got the Dys0n I was tempted to abandon it but it is a Mie1e and very powerful so I have been tripping up on it for MONTHS weighing up whether to get rid. I was convinced there was rotting matter in there. This morning I cleaned it out. YUK. Changed the filters. Added a new bag and cleaned it. It is now ready for use and stored away under the stairs :)

    FROG
Steam cleaned the kitchen floor and hallway and actually emptied and stored away after use for the next time :)

    HOME ORGANISATION
A giant cushion takes up half my living room but now popped in the car ready to drop off at the charity shop

    Slippers thrown away.

Living room decluttered and a plant added in place of chest of drawers

All blankets washed and out drying.

    Happy Sunday :)

A conflict of interests presents itself.

The roofer has just said he can do the work sealing the holes in the fascias tomorrow. (My day off) I had appointments tomorrow to get some drab to fab work done by going to the beauty college for a facial and a pedicure but I said yes to the roofer. I dare not let any tradesmen slip away.

I will phone the college to see if they can fit me in later on in the day.

I threw away all the wheat and dairy and processed foods in the house so I can focus on eating well next week.

I should have made my own buckwheat and flaxseed wraps instead of gorging on bread, but in this heat I don’t want to stand over a frying pan so I didn’t. :o

My name is DIA and despite being gluten intolerant I succumbed to pitta bread minis reduced from £1.25 to 15p, three lots purchased. Big mistake. Now binned :o

Three things have occurred to me today

1 I need an emergency fund, especially now I have a car

    2. I am not exercising AT ALL (In this heat I hate walking)

    3. Linked to 2, I am getting fatter

    SOLUTIONS

Paid a few pounds into CU account. There is now £300 in there. My aim is £1,000

    2. Setting alarm tomorrow to go to the gym for 30 minutes on the cross trainer.

    3. So I will be doing the thoroughly-sensible-get-a-grip diet. This consists of:
Not eating after 5pm, a high protein breakfast, a well stocked fruit bowl, lots of water,
fruits for snacks, a veg box (just ordered one for next week) and a little less eating utter nonsense.

Bring on next week. I am ready to roll :) Hope you are too :)
