Why don't you indicate?

  • I do when it is needed, but then again I like people to know my intentions so they don`t pull out in front of me or drive like inconsiderate morons (strangely enough many still do it).

Many people are too focused on themselves to indicate.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the Institute of Advanced Motorists advise against unnecessary indicating which of course results in some members failing to indicate when they should do. As a pedestrian waiting at a T junction for a non indicating motorist to decide in which direction he wishes to go before you can cross the road is very frustrating.

Here we have the opposite problem - pedestrians who cross in front of oncoming traffic with their eyes glued to their phone unaware theres even a vehicle coming!

I came across 2 of them today within just 2 miles.

Oh and the other great one - slam on the brakes THEN indicate.

So for that second or two behind them you've no idea if they're attempting an emergency stop or turning left or turning right.

    Its MIRROR, INDICATE, MANOEUVRE

    Braking is part of MANOEUVRE.

I wish that people wouldn't indicate out of laziness. The number of times that people think you can indicate in lieu of looking in the @@$$$%% mirror and just pull out and give you a look that says, often without words "Well, I indicated!"

I'd prefer that people improved the standard of their observation and then based their need to indicate based on their careful observation.

I must live in a really great part of the UK then because we all indicate and most motorists here are really considerate. When I get out of my own city I notice that there are a lot of tailgaters and more rude drivers but then I just go slower and they don't like it. But I don't care!

Some are but the indicators are obscured by the dazzle of the fog lights being on for no reason!

Anyone else think the latest Audi's with the LED light cluster indicators are difficult to see, especially if they brake as well?

There are also quite a few that think that one flash of their little orange light, is enough!! Blink and you miss it!!

I work on the principal that if other drivers have dashcams.....then in the event of an accident, it should be clearly visible (depending on angles) that I was indicating...for more than a few "flashes".

People don't indicate, they speed, they park in disabled spaces, they ignore double yellows... people are selfish.

I drive assuming the person in front of me is going to suddenly slam on the brakes, turn without signalling etc. I don't get annoyed by it, I expect it.

I don't even expect people to say thank you when I let them through, because most of the time they don't.

The only indicating that annoys me is London buses. They drive along a bus lane, but still indicate left and right as they stop at bus stops. Too often I see a bus in a bus lane indicating right, so I slow to let it into my lane, only to watch as it drives in a straight line along the bus lane.

They should indicate to show their intention to turn/change lanes. Not simply start moving. Who are they indicating to?!
