Love it...You should use them as an unofficial savings scheme...I did with my utilities company...especially during the summer months - fab Christmas savings scheme:rotfl:£38,000 and change to £00

How odd for them to give it back without telling you. I had to argue with my old supplier for 6 months to get my £200 and I only got it back when I left! Blooming lovely though for you. Could you reduce the overdraft by £200 and spend the £23 on you?
You're doing very well. Keep it up pidge xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

I know...strange. I knew I was in credit when I put in the last meter reading and they said then I could have the money but I didn’t quite believe it so I didn’t pursue it. I’ve put the £200 into my savings for something and the £23 has been used for some things my daughter needed.
I do need some things (clothes!) but I don’t ever feel like I’m worth it ... like I don’t deserve to spend any money on myself when there are debts to be repaid.
Would have been lovely to have reduced the overdraft by £200 in one hit! Looking forward to pay day at the end of the week and I will be able to bring it down to £700.
Hope you’re well, Kitten. Happy Easter!Store card £140 £117 - Store card £150 - Overdraft £200 - PayPal £364 - Loan 1 £5052 - Loan 2 £1733 - Credit card £2890 - Car hire purchase £3200 - Savings £0.0 -
Pay day and I've just reduced my overdraft by £100 to £700. I don't think I will be able to do the same next month because I am not doing any overtime this month and I have a few more expenses next month. I'll be happy if I manage to reduce it by £50 though so that will be something to aim towards. My overdraft has felt pretty entrenched for many years so I can't tell you of the relief that it is going down.
I've got £900 in my savings.
I've been selling bits and pieces and I have had some non-spend days. Have managed to steer clear of shops!
Hope to hear back soon about the 3 part time jobs I've applied for. I would really love to get one which is 6 hours over the weekend. That would really help me to tackle my credit card.
2 days back at work after a lovely Easter holiday and I can feel my anxiety rising and I am not sleeping well. It's a toxic environment and I feel very undervalued and poorly managed - just not managed at all really. I want to try and adopt a new attitude that I fit work in around the good stuff in life and not the other way round!
Looking forward to the weekend to spend time outside and to do some clearing out/listing some more bits to sell.
Wishing you all well.Store card £140 £117 - Store card £150 - Overdraft £200 - PayPal £364 - Loan 1 £5052 - Loan 2 £1733 - Credit card £2890 - Car hire purchase £3200 - Savings £0.0 -
Great news on the BG refund
Allow yourself the odd treat for something you need ie clothing. It will lift your esteem hopefully as you are always worth it but do it MSE style and keep the majority for bills etc
You have to live
Hope things are better at work , its difficult when there is a lack of support within the working environment0 -
My budget this month has been slightly derailed but I am not going to worry about it too much.
I accidentally paid something twice so I’m £20 down. I had budgeted £20 for breakfast clubs and after school clubs this week but in fact it was £9 so that’s a good saving.
My husband (or flatmate as someone in my life probably more accurately described him recently) pays for most of the food every month. On my pay day last week, I forgot to pick up salad bits and a bottle of squash so I texted him to ask him to pick those things up on the way home. He texted me that his financial situation isn’t good ... could I pay for food until his pay day? I asked him if he wanted to borrow some money from me until he gets paid. He said no he would be fine.
The next day, I know that he had at least one cappuccino from the most expensive cafe nearby.
So presumably he has some money. He took my mum and my daughter there yesterday too and treated them. He spent £4 on a drink for my daughter which she didn’t drink!
So I feel like he was making a point. I think he’s got money but he’s fed up of paying for food.
I did a shop in Aldi yesterday for £55 which I hadn’t budgeted for. I’m going to plan and budget for 1 food shop a month from now on. He earns £400 a month more than me but all the bills and childcare costs are split 50/50.
When I opened his laptop the other week for my daughter, I saw his email open with confirmation he had transferred £1000 to his sibling overseas. A transfer of £642 the previous month to the same brother written on a bit of paper I found. I had lent him £50 a few days before the £1000 transfer which was a day before his pay day. Did he borrow the £1000 from somewhere? It’s strengthened my resolve to build up my savings to try and separate in the future.
It’s very clear that I budget and plan and analyse my incomings and outgoings everyday. He must spend £100 a month on take away coffees.
I have an interview for one of the weekend jobs I applied for! Have been envisaging what it will be like if I got that - I would be able to pay off my credit card by December!Store card £140 £117 - Store card £150 - Overdraft £200 - PayPal £364 - Loan 1 £5052 - Loan 2 £1733 - Credit card £2890 - Car hire purchase £3200 - Savings £0.0 -
Wow pidge - your 'flatmate' situation isn't ideal, is it. That's me being tactful btw! Must be hard for you.
Great news re interview though - good luck, I hope you get it.
