Used old lady's garage in exchange for free work

So what I have picked up from the ops other threads is a sense of knowing more than others about the world because he once lived in a different country. He describes himself as international.
And a sense of a class system that colours his attitude towards people.
I have got a lot of very international friends, this pettiness wouldnt even enter into their conversations.
All this gossip is very small minded.
I see you e been storing your gardening equipment that you use to do other work ,in her garage, quite intrusive for her. I guess that is what you are afraid of, undeclared earnings.
Hidden cash? Bizarre . Hiding cash under floorboards-very international
Which country was it you lived in op? Travel is SUPPOSED to broaden the mind, not make your more suspicious.
You have really had the benefit of MSE advice about how to avoid declaring various things..0 -
What I picked up from the other thread was that applepicker appeared to be involving himself in matters that had nothing to do with him, in part by gossiping with other people employed by the lady who allowed him to store his stuff in her garage in exchange for an hour of gardening per week (which she paid him £10).So what I have picked up from the ops other thread is... <snip>
Not to mention speculating that this old lady had changed her will:
Not to mention believing he knew better than Social Services who had assessed that the lady needed 2 carers because he thought she should be in a care home.
I agree with neilcl - there is something wrong here.0 -
I have now edited my post. I meant to say other threads , plural0

Trust me putting up with her moaning and running around doing lots of ridiculous jobs for very little money, she did well out of me as I did well using her garage.
So you don't like the old lady? You were happy enough to use her garage and take her money, cash in hand and not declared. Now YOU! want to dob her in to SS
I hope instant Karma catches up with you.

The OP says he:may soon fall out with someone who knew her.
It could be this person:
or it could be the woman in the thread in the link in my post #20 who the OP (under his other username 'applepicker') said was after the old lady's money and wanted to report her to Social Services.Got an inheritance (£100,000 ) then from another old inheritance kept saved - £20,000 and £15,000 saved I bought a one bedroom flat -£124,000 outright. Only a one bedroom flat and I am 44 so not really that great but lots of my friends are struggling to pay their mortgages or rent in rubbish places in an area of the country with medium earning potential and high house prices. Best keep quiet?
or just say had big deposit. Think one friend worked it out when I explained my bills. we fell out recently, could be partly tom do with this
I guess when you fall out with someone or p*ss them off, you'd better make sure you're squeaky clean.

Ah, I see.It is the other old lady he wants to report to Social Services.
That 'old lady' is younger than me. :rotfl:
But it wasn't her garage that he was using and it wasn't her money he was taking.
That was the 90 year old German lady who owned the bungalow 'probably worth £500k'.
The 'old lady' he wanted to report to Social Services was 'mid to late 50' and a school TA.
But that was this time last year that applepicker was talking about 'dobbing her in to SS'.
textbook appears to be worried about being dobbed in to some authority himself now.0 -

Perhaps I did not explain it properly. It is hard to keep track, he has fallen out with so many people. It seems he may have DID.

I've now read 'em, too. Be it textbook or applepicker, the OP is repeatedly haunted by the prospect of being reported to someone or other for something or other at some time or other. The fact that this latest saga is unfolding under the forum's warnings section is perhaps as good a signal as any that the kind of help the OP actually needs isn't ever going to be found on MSE.0
