Used old lady's garage in exchange for free work

I had am oral agreement with an old lady that I would store my stuff in her garage and consequentially do her gardening. Actually she paid me £10/hr for an hr a week always cash but no one would have worked for that and put up with her in reality.

My question is, if someone wanted to get me could they make up something I did wrong and get in trouble with the authorities? This has all finished now and the old lady is dead but I may soon fall out with someone who knew her.

Not sure it should be in the P, V & W.

So £40 a month, its not much, cant see anyone being interested.

Maybe theres more to it but until more information is given we can't give alot of advice.

Were you claiming benefits and should have declared this income?
Was it £10 per hour and you worked for one hour per week? i.e. she paid you £10.00 each week.
That's the way I read it but DCFC79 appears to have read it differently.

£10 per hour cash in hand seems very generous to me.

What is the going rate to rent a garage in your neighbourhood?

In reality, she paid you for some alleged gardening and you got to store your stuff for free?
Your title is a bit misleading .
Some might view that as taking advantage of an old lady.

Gardeners in my area charge £15 cash in hand at the very least - I've heard of some charging £20.

Trust me putting up with her moaning and running around doing lots of ridiculous jobs for very little money, she did well out of me as I did well using her garage.

The reason for my concern is this lady who befriended the old lady for years then managed her money and selling house when she died did it all to get the house in my opinion. I am thinking of contacting social services to check everything is legit and the will isn't fraudualeint. The inheritance lady and her husband ran everything and no relatives were at the funeral. A lawyer I spoke to said the nephew would need to contact a lawyer but I don't know the nephew's name. I thought if contacted social services they could look into it. But I do also worry she might try to get her revenge on me in some way if she ever found out it was me who contacted social services possibly using the garage as a misdemeanour on my part.
