    Social Services won't do anything.
The nephew could apply to get a copy of the Will

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

Trust me putting up with her moaning and running around doing lots of ridiculous jobs for very little money, she did well out of me as I did well using her garage.

The reason for my concern is this lady who befriended the old lady for years then managed her money and selling house when she died did it all to get the house in my opinion. I am thinking of contacting social services to check everything is legit and the will isn't fraudualeint. The inheritance lady and her husband ran everything and no relatives were at the funeral. A lawyer I spoke to said the nephew would need to contact a lawyer but I don't know the nephew's name. I thought if contacted social services they could look into it. Obviously this is partly vengenance as this woman was a real cow and I hate her but also worry she might try to get her revenge on me in some way if she ever found out it was me who contacted social services possibly using the garage as a misdemeanour on my part.

So-none of her relatives bothered to go to the funeral.
Only one couple took care of her and you think thats wrong?
    Popcorn..
  • What trouble do you think you can get into for using someone's garage with their permission?

Even if you had been using it without their permission the worst that would happen is that you would have to stop using it; as you will presumably have to anyway.

This makes no sense unless you explain.

I had a feeling that this sounded familiar and when the OP posted this yesterday, I'm sure I've read a thread like this before but under a different username (quite some time ago). The old lady was still alive at that time.

The OP of that thread was a pretty nasty character imho.

Back to this thread - what business is it of yours who got the old lady's money?
Social Services can't tell you if the will is fraudulent. And wouldn't tell you even if they could.

OP - you have been asked questions
Which authority are you worried about?

Were you claiming benefits and should have declared this income?
    Are you going to answer?
Because if you aren't, nobody can advice about a possible 'misdemeanour' on your part.

Was it £10 per hour and you worked for one hour per week? i.e. she paid you £10.00 each week.
That's the way I read it but DCFC79 appears to have read it differently.

Some reason Id put £40 instead of pm, thanks for pointing it out.

He might not even know she's died. He might not have been contacted. Why won't they do anything? They could at least check nothing untoward has happened

OP, It's none of your business. Let the nephew sort it out if he can be bothered.

Read the news, Social Services are completely overstretched after years of cuts, they've got better things to do than intervene in things like this.

They should check nothing untoward is going on with you imho.
What was this stuff she was storing on her property for you?
Perhaps you think you got a mention in the will?

Further to this, here is the thread that I remembered.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5618800

That thread mentions a nephew and the OP of this thread also posted about trying to find a nephew in Germany of an old lady who died:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5734086

That thread (by applepicker) also mentions storing equipment in the garage belonging to this old lady, doing gardening for her and receiving £10 per hour for one hour per week.

I have no doubt that textbook and applepicker are the same person.

Given the lengths that applepicker (aka textbook) went to on the original thread, I wouldn't be at all surprised that the old lady's carer (and possibly beneficiary) would feel like causing trouble for textbook/applepicker.

I think the expression may be 'the chickens have come home to roost'.

Yes I agree, I think textbook and applepicker are one and the same, there's definitely some duplication in some of their previous postings. Also worrying things regarding inheritances and hiding cash.

Something just doesn't sit right about this for me.
