I have never thought about requesting cc increases.
Much prefer the auto suprise route.

I think you need to look at why you are so keen to have these limits increasing. It sounds like a risk of things running away, not good with such high interest cards.

I was glad when Aqua increased my limit from £1200 to £2000, as I'd used it abroad for £900 of expenses in a month, but I couldn't see any point when they increased it again.

Agreed, though it does help bring my utelization numbers down,
Hopefully I'll be almost clear 2-3 years.
Thanks and Aqua interest isn't slow in building neither are Cap 1
Though I'm sticking to clearing small balances 1st which works well for me.

  • Hiya, I had a similar route with fully paid DMP in mid 2016, and defaults still on until early 2019.
Was surprised I had been 95% approved, and subsequently received a Tesco CC with high limit and 0% deals.
So yes time is a healer as long as everything since DMP/Defaults has been on the green.

This isn't celebrating minus money - it's not minus money unless it's spent.

    Ah, the voice of reason.

Credit cards - like fitness, health lifestyles, practicing any kind of craft - require discipline. Nothing feels as good as being able to clean up your own mess and amend your ways, except being given the actual chance to factually get it done.

Thanks I'm at the end of applying for credit.
Whilst my cra's were being improved as much as possible slowly.
My reduction to part time wages have halted any eligibility.

Maybe thing could improve slightly once I'm past dmp-which I'm not thinking about for some time yet- yearly balance updates since 2012 -+50% paid was some sense of improvement.

A few balance required to be re paid-hopefully before dmp finishes.
Nice to hear you succeeded in improving your cra's
