She feels that the complaint raised wouldn!!!8217;t have been raised against another male employee and that we have taken sides without hearing her side and automatically chose to discipline her without investigating the matter.
And she's right, you have admitted it here0 -
She is, of course, 100% right - that's exactly what happened :mad:0

What do you mean whether it’s actionable or not? The complaint you mean?0

She's raised a grievance. If handled correctly, further action should be limited and any compensation claim likewise limited0 -
So she could claim compensation for this??
It!!!8217;s a failing on our part, I admit that. But surely there!!!8217;s no legal claim?0 -
My God, OP, do you have any idea how you come across? The butler in Downton Abbey would not get away with treating "his" staff the way you do yours.
I hope this poor woman crucifies you and lets the world know that no female should ever apply to work for you because there is one law for "the lads" and another for women: They are not allowed to communicate with "the lads" in work or out of it, nor to overhear anything inappropriate; any attempt at normal human interaction will be met with a disciplinary, while "the lads" get away with murder (and with being the dickless wonders they are)
Who the hell are you to decide what is and is not "appropriate" for your one and only female employee to hear? This is not the 19th century, !!!!!!! You have one rule for her and another for "the lads" of whom you are patently terrified. I bet she has bigger balls than the rest of you put together. We women tend to need them in the work place, never more so than in male-dominated industries...
FYI, It's 2018!!!0
