New pillar appeared on our driveway..

I'm sorry ladies but, until we know what is meant by "pillar" in Amanda_Cm's particular drive, it is all a load of bollards.0

Sorry. Ignore me! Or try this::rotfl: G_M, you are not helping, linguistically speaking, now are you? :T

I nearly cried laughing! The name of the street! Viagra companies have a great deal to answer for.0 -
Wouldn't it be even funnier if the bollards rising up looked identical to the lollypop person in the background......0

Hardly "pillars" though, are they? Can't really see a DNO/BT dumping a cabinet in someone's drive as it is private property. If it is directly outside and impeding access, whoever put it there needs either to move it or widen the drive at their own expense, imho however, until we know what "pillar" means in this case, all is speculation.
They do come in various sizes, a house we looked at last year had a smaller version on the pavement directly in front of the property.
Agree with your last point though, we are speculating atm.0 -
I'd only really worry if it's its the fifth column outside my gate....1

This is true of most pillars...

I was thinking more the Ken Follett type of pillars.
At least they are pillars of the Earth...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I think the OP is going from pillar to post on this one.0

You rotter, I already have a bad back and now am crying with pain and laughter!
Well at least these rose to the occasion
The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0
