Last week we completed on our first home. When we went to view there was one pillar on the side of driveway. Now there is a second one, just 20cm away from the old one. Looks like electric but I am not sure.
Is hard to park 2 cars now. Want to investigate why this pillar is there.
Can you please help me with some advice.

No-one is psychic here.
Why not ask the prev owners, or the council, or next door? Who on earth asks strangers on the internet...
Maybe Artful put it up; or was it you Pixie; G_M perhaps?0 -
We'll probably need a photo.
Or at least a more detailed explanation of what you mean by "a pillar".0 -
Congratulations on your move, Amanda_Cm and I hope you will be happy in your new home. I think perhaps something has been lost in translation here. This is in no way a criticism; your English is a great deal better than that of many English (as opposed to British) people's on here but I cannot visualise what you mean by a pillar in this instance.
Pillar usually means a tall stone or wooden column forming part of a building to hold the roof up. If you mean bollard I don't understand the electricity association. Is this edifice on your property or on the pavement just outside your boundary? Please either post a picture or elaborate so we can try to offer suggestions. Thanks.0 -
My first thought is something not dissimilar to the cabinets below in which case they could be either BT or the OPs local cable TV provider.

Hardly "pillars" though, are they? Can't really see a DNO/BT dumping a cabinet in someone's drive as it is private property. If it is directly outside and impeding access, whoever put it there needs either to move it or widen the drive at their own expense, imho however, until we know what "pillar" means in this case, all is speculation.0 -

Took it to mean more of a bollard sort of pillar - like this
