• I have chased the banks to find out what is happening with the incentive payments. They have assured me that all delayed payments will be made this week - sorry for the delay.

WARNING - to Virgin mobile customers - I've spent ages trying to get this Monilink thing to work on my phone, have followed all their instructions to the letter but have finally given up. It just won't work.

Anyway, I have been CHARGED a total of £3.66 by my network for all my failed attempts at connecting.

My advice - just don't bother.

I will be asking my bank to reimburse me this cost as I followed their instructions in good faith and I'm very unhappy that it's left me out of pocket.

This technology is not well developed enough to be rolled out yet and there should be clear warnings to people on certain networks that they might end up a few quid out of pocket in network charges, and not get their free tenner, if it doesn't work.
• Taxiphil,

I'm sorry that you are having issues registering for MONILINK. If you still want to register then please email me at support@monilink.co.uk with details of your problems.

As regards mobile operator network changes, we do state in our terms and conditions that Virgin will charge at standard data tariff rates when accessing the service:-

1. Your Mobile Network charges
There will be no data charges from your mobile network for registering, using or downloading MONILINK with the exception of Orange and Virgin. For Orange and Virgin customers MONILINK usage and download will be charged at your standard data tariff.
