Bear in mind the DD may move a few days each month wheras the SO won't. This could cause the DD to get cancelled or reduced one month if the SO is taken 2 days or more before the DD.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I think it's good that credit cards don't have that option because it's a bad idea to pay like that. If you set the minimum payment plus an amount it will result in you paying slightly less each month in total as the balance decreases.
If you have budgeted a certain amount then paying slightly less each month will just result in it taking longer to pay off with more interest. Your much better off setting it at a set amount that you can afford each month.
But I'm assuming that you have a balance your paying off (with no interest free offers) and are not adding to it:
-If your stoozing and have an interest free offer then paying the minimum payment shouldn't hurt.
-If you have debt on a card (paying interest) plus are adding to it and can't pay it off in full then I can understand why you want to pay minimum plus a bit extra but it won't be helping your situation and you need to urgently sort out your finances and budget (if your not already).0
