  • Beware just because you pay to pre book a seat with Jet2 which in the FAQs says guarantees you sit in the area of the plane you want. Their terms and conditions allows them to change them!!!

Just back from a trip with Ryanair, having booked 1 seat beside the others allocated seat, there was nothing at £4 for a seat, cheapest price was £7, then £10,£12,£17 then £25-for a front (4) rows. Just before take off - it was like musical chairs, this one swoping with that one, etc, etc, amusing to watch. However having paid to sit together, there was a to do party on the flight, worst 4 hours ever and the galling thing was we paid for that seat.
The 4 hour flight felt like the 4 days we were away for.

Shame on the people that are incapable of sitting in the seat they have been allocated.

Do Not Fly With United Airlines!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure some of you may defend this airline is cheap but this airlines suck. Their customer services is really terrible during the times I was booking my flight.

They put me on a hell hole of delays and their employees are rude and disrespectful. I don't know why this company is still not out of business.

More information required before I sympathise with you about Jet2 changing your seats.

This thread is about 'cheap airline seating;.
Paying extra to choose your airline seat can soon add up. A family of four could spend up to £240 to guarantee they sit together on return flights - yet unless your heart's set on particular seats, it's usually unnecessary.
While Ryanair's the worst culprit - splitting up groups who refuse to pay and forcing parents to reserve seats - even pricier airlines now often charge a fee to select a seat in advance on their lowest fares. Here we've full info on what you'll pay, your rights and how to sit together for free on a basic economy ticket.
Do United airlines charge to select your seats?

    It's United is it?

I was giggling at the use of an unreadable yellow font to try and slag a firm off. Epic fail.

Yes, it's not the best colour to choose to make a point.
Nor is excessive use of punctuation marks.

Personally, I've no experience of United Airlines but I've no idea what a "hell hole of delays" is.

    Hi everyone,

Just booked for Sri Lanka in November with Etihad ffrom Manchester. Able to pick seats for every leg of the journey free of charge.

Aff, we spent an extra £40 or so to select seats from Edi to Bangkok (4 legs). We booked via Opodo in January. Did you book direct with Etihad or should it not matter who the booking agent is?

It might depend on what class of ticket you purchased.
    For example:
Singapore air have now introduced a seat charge if you book the cheapest ticket
When we booked our Singapore Airlines tickets (direct with the airline), we were fully aware that they were non-refundable - and the cheapest tickets on offer..
    Choosing specific seats was chargeable.

    Hi,

We've written a new Airline Seating guide and would love your feedback.

Please let us know if it was helpful and if there are any other tips you'd add.

    Thanks,

    MSE Naomi

I had hoped that MSE would use this thread to pick up errors in the original article, and it's a little disappointing that they have not done this. The erroneous information about American Airlines has not been corrected.
