Only 3 months, August sounds like ages away but at scan yesterday they said my due date was 11th Aug!0

A good start to the year, expecting a minimum of £93 from Quidco and a couple of quid from Amazon so will make this payment as soon as it enters the account. Better than last year already!0

Well today has been a very good day all round:
* College where I work has been inspected all week, I was observed twice, the 3 departments that were inspected all got a grade 1 and overall out of 7 areas we got grade 1's across the board! We are the only college in Wales to get this grade so everyone chuffed, out for a freebie party tonight :T
* Won some shampoo, conditioner and other hair stuff so will put in a bag for Xmas hampers, I got the hampers yesterday - a job lot on ebay.
* Quidco payment has turned out to be £160 so this is a fab amount to overpay on the mortgage.
All in all not bad start to the year.

Cool!! Congrats on the pregnancy...i am on mat leave and struggling to manage, so only overpaying £23 a month. But i did laugh when i saw the earlier posts saying "well at least you had everything from your other pregnancy".......we thought that when we decided to have a 3rd and final child, only to find out at the 1st scan that "it" was twins!!, So not much moneysaving, as we then had to get "another" of everything, plus double buggy etc. Am proud though that we accumalated 2nd car seat free, 2nd moses basket and stand for £5 (2nd hand), 2nd cot for £40 (2nd hand), double buggy £30 (2nd hand) changing station £20 (2nd hand) and lots of clothes from friends for free!!
will be watching your thread with interest...!Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
Hi Clare,
It's definitely just one! Won't find out if it's a boy or girl for another 8 weeks if it's a girl then we have tons of clothes, if it's a boy then a trip to the charity shops will be needed in the future. Have unisex clothes for when it's very little.
All,
Had good mse party only spent £3 as friend kept buying me drinks, I just couldn't say no!0 -
 Hi everybody!
Loooooooooong time no speak, have been extremely busy with work, family and pregnancy so not a lot to post really.
Baby getting big now, have finally succumbed to maternity clothes I've got 4 months left at work and can't wait to finish getting a big peed off with a few things so will be glad for a break. Everything else in the family well - brother home in a few weeks from Afghanistan so can't wait, he's been on a 6 month tour!
OK so to the finances, we're in a decent position at the moment but ensuring that we are living within our means and trying to reduce spending as much as possible. Vouchers and survey sites paying out well, haven't had to spend any money on prezzies so far as all covered.
Still need to sort out some regular payments to savings account as not as focussed here. Hubbie gets his bonus in a couple of weeks but I think we're going to leave that in the account as car tax and home insurance due soon so want to pay in full (and go through Quidco).
Right now to the mortgage - haven't made an overpayment yet as been busy but will write out a cheque today, it's a shame it's not online as I'd love to transfer over little bits and pieces. So going to send a cheque for £130 as needed a bit of money for college fees - this includes some money from a survey site. Am a bit peeved with mortgage statement as the figures don't seem to have gone down much since the last quarter - makes me more focussed to overpay.
Right I'll post the figures in a mo.

Mortgage as at Oct 2007:
Mortgage 101,628.18
Secured Loan 6,897.07
Unsecured Loan 11,165.69
Total outstanding: 119,690.94
Mortgage as at Feb 2008
Mortgage 101,117.98
Secured Loan 6,858.51
Unsecured Loan 11,097.92
Total outstanding 119,074.41
In fact looking at the figures I think I might overpay by £158.51 as paying on the secured part and I like nice neat figures!0 -
Hi:hello:
It's great to hear the pregnancy is going well:D Hope you've got past the nasty morning sickness stuff. Have a great time with your brother - can't imagine Afganistan is much fun._pale_. Well done on the overpayments - on another thread someone said that overpaying £1 saves you £3 so you have saved £1850....0 -

Thanks for the info above, knowing that sum definitely inspires me to get going again.
