I chanced upon the article as well and found a few bloggers who I am not following so will be finding them shortly and having a read.
It was a short but succinct article I thought.

Also read the article - most interesting, especially the point about the 4% withdrawal rule. I'm going to have a read of the Frugal Cottage blog as well. They were lucky to inherit a bungalow though!

I must have missed the bit about inheriting a bungalow.
    Wish I had!

    Hello All

It was good to see the faces behind some bloggers I follow and some I wasn't aware of. Ive always liked MMM but I am now following The Next Life which is a nice read about FIRE. One post that caught my eye is about the FI blogging community needing to be transparent in what they write, particularly in relation to monetarising their blogs etc, side hustles etc. The 4% rule is quite a usual one to follow, but bloggers such as MMM, Mrs FW etc are all making money from their blogs which must top up the account somewhat, Its not that I begrudge it, far from it, but I like The Next Life requesting that writers are open about it..

Yes someone inherited a bungalow..not Nicola but someone did. Having a job you can do anywhere must help too. Much though I love Brizzle we are also tied to it for employment as my OH's work is quite specialist.

So...a mixed day. Didn't get a lot done, but did work this afternoon. Not feeling well, but hopefully I can get through another 3 days before the Easter holibobs. One egg from the girls and a M&S ready meal cooked up for when DD1 came back from her 3 day expedition (much cheaper than going out). Luckily she had a great time..

Spent some time on YNAB and reviewing my financial goals, I really need to get my saving rate up once these debts are gone. This is how a lot of FIRE works isn't it - creating a yawning gap between income and expenditure - so on paper as we earn well, 45% is doable but really...that has never EVER been achieved in all my days....and my gawd could we do great things if we did... question is whether the 4 of us are up for it.. probably one to chat about when there is less work and exam stress...but I am plotting..

Bought some gin using a MOV and so finished another batch of sloe gin....woohoo beanie..you about for a snifter? ;) Generally though its been a slow alcohol month which is no bad thing - I have been drinking a lot of Yorkshire tea instead!! Did some of my charitable admin work this evening too and am loving my bullet diary. Seems to be more lists than musings though which is a bit of a sad reflection of my life :rotfl: but I also have a section I created (colour coded) for each month and it helps me prioritise but also remember the 'funner' stuff:
Red - Urgent (of 6 things I have completed 2 so need to step up the pace)
    Yellow - Must Do
    Green - Nice to Do
Purple - If There is Time..
Blue - The Everyday Stuff (which usually morphs into my daily lists)

Its really helping. Early days but recommended.

Have a great week folks, thanks for popping by x
