Thanks for that
I already occasionally read the frugal cottage but have added a couple of new FIRE blogs to my reading list nowIt's something I need to tackle more - but gets pushed down the to-do list as everyday things take precedence - but I should set aside some time for it

I have also been doing it for so long it is a good deal. Dont use the free cinema tickets as often as I should tho..and have never used my Compare the Market ones...my bad.
All is fine here, thanks, brizzleI am much more relaxed (read lazy) about paying off the BTL mtge than I was our own - we slammed our personal mtge in comparison. But this one isn't as important in some ways (although would help towards FIRE, of course)
Weather here has been much better than predicted this weekend - so am guessing it's been reasonable (ok, very rainy, but not freezing) for you just a wee bit Southwards, too?
Not sure our accountant would agree that subscribing to the Times online would be tax deductible enough for OH's co - depends how much employment law/ HR related stuff was in there
Oooh - just remembered - that article was written by Faith Archer, who has a blog which I follow anyway, so I subsequently also saw the link on there. She's (obv) a finance-related journalist, but her blog is a mix of money and family stuff, so an 'easier' read than some pure finance blogs (depending on your pov) - https://www.muchmorewithless.co.uk/
Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter and enjoyed the long weekend! (to those who have had one, of course....)

Hi greent...thanks for popping by. Wonder why its harder for you to pay down the BTL? Maybe it doesnt feel like the same priority of debt? I also think secured debt is harder to see as debt...even Mrs FW and MMM still have their mortgages and I completely understand why.
Like the blog..pretty photos too
A nice day today with some frugal overtonesHavent managed to do the reporting yet on YNAB as DD1 has been on the laptop, but plan to do that tomorrow. Will update signature and goals for here and 8n my bullet journal too. We spent £15 on a family cinema ticket to see Ready Player One which we all loved and took snacks and drinks so no other spends there. Free parking too as it was a Bank Holiday
Small spend in Tescos and some fuel. Signed up for a Clubcard as although I almost never am there, when I am I want the loyalty points! Waiting for the big DDs to go out tomorrow and then can do some shuffling before the big shuffle on 20th when I hope to pay off another CC...cant wait
Doing a lot of diary reading this bank holiday...helps me stay on the straight and narrow
Have a great week all xx0 -
Ooh exciting~~nearly another CC gone.
You have a good weekxx

:hello:
I've had some referrals from this thread today so had to see why - I'm Nicola over at The Frugal Cottage, which is why I don't have any time to post on MSE anymore
Thanks for your comments on the article - it was a good opportunity to get the world of FIRE into the main press. We didn't inherit a bungalow though (I wish!) and still very much in the early stages of our journey.
Thanks for reading my blog too; very much appreciatedBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
