    welcome claypath!

MIT so sorry to hear about your mum..you must be devastated; lovely though that you were able to be there for her. hugs and prayers for you as you adjust to life without someone you love...its one of the hardest things to bear and I know from experience that sometimes you just have to get through a day at a time :)

andrar the idea is that you try to spend nothing but in the past I have excluded necessities like petrol as do alot of driving for my job and have to do it. I did dreadfully today as was out and about so with hot weather impossible to have lunch with me so will try again tomorrow! Having said that got lunch at asda and no expenses other than that!

I have no idea what to say but I didn't want to read and run.
Certainly puts money worries into perspective.

If I'm honest I dont know how to respond Talisker as I am on of the "horrendous" people you describe :( I have long since known that no matter what I do it will never be right for all (damned if you do, damned if you dont) but can only do my best each day.

I can understand that from where you are that you think we are all uncaring and remove children at a whim (not the case as courts actually make the decision based on evidence provided from a number of sources); I have seen (for the last 12 years) the utter devastation that is caused to children whose parents have abused, neglected and devastated them.

That is not to say that you are one of them but what people dont appreciate is that we (along with education, health etc) have a legal duty to protect the vulnerable and with the best will in the world we arent there 24 hours a day...

Anyway, regardless I hope that as a family you manage to rebuild and go from strength to strength and you continue on your journey.

Meanwhile I will continue to do the best for the young people that I serve and will continue to do my best to support them as they come to terms with their past, plan their future and support them in their journey to life in the adult world.

I am happy to discuss this with you further but would suggest that ongoing discussion is by private mail to avoid derailing the thread as appreciate that its an emotive issue...

Absolutely no offence intended ISOM, I appreciate that not everyone is the same and that you do a valuable job. Our experience obviously was not so good and we really didn't get on with the social worker or indeed the department in our case. I won't say which one!

I am happy to PM you anytime and I don't wish this forum to become a witch hunt. What we experienced was terrible but it is behind us now. I actually wish I hadn't said anything now. Very sorry for any offence to you.

First post deleted. I didn't post to cause offence, it was never my intention. We move onward as a family. Thank you ISOM, for helping me see beyond the anger.

    Best wishes to you all.
