I agree with you ISOM my spending diary is my best friend along with the snowball. They keep me well on the straight and narrow. That's amazing that you are near your DFD well done. I have 23 months to go  but at least I can start thinking of it in months rather than years5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
It is great that you are near your debt free date ISOM and MIT you are not far off either. I feel as though I do one step forward and two backwards sometimes. Life can get expensive when things start to go wrong. We had DD in hospital and the money we spent on fuel, parking and costas is shocking. Like you both I keep a spending diary, it really shows where the money can drain away...
I still have about 7 years to go but I have already reduced my debt by 105 which feels like a massive milestone .business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I am now down to 5 months to go, all I need to do is to sort out the interest I owe to HBOS from when they unfroze and then refroze the interest.
I feel morally obliged to repay the £1500, as after all I have had a loan off them, for the last 7 years while on my DMP.0 -

Welcome gazza!
Well my DFD will be back a bit...have had an expensive couple of months and CC has taken a bit of a bashing! Will be paid off fairly quickly and must stop spending so back to basics and no spend days to follow! Anyone want to join me in a no spend day challenge starting tomorrow?Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
I will! Is it just don't spend any money? Not done one before but I'm in a pickle this month and it's gonna be a tight one so this sounds like a good idea!0

Hi folks. My life has been terrible as I lost my wee mum. She has been ill for about 3 yrs and had gone into a hospice about 6 weeks ago but they had decided it was the wrong place for her and we were to look for a nursing home for her. She got another chest infection and she went downhill very quickly and died. I am devastated and debt has rocketed although the insurance etc will clear the additional debt. Such a shame. I need to try and curb my spending though as I don't want to lose control5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I'm really sorry to hear that, I lost both my parents by the time I was 23 and it's the reason I'm in debt today.
My only piece of advice is to think of the bigger picture and don't get bogged down with today, it will get better but it's a journey all the same.
My thoughts are with you0
