Think you're right re the LBM. Another friend has helped put it in perspective for her and she sounded much better on the phone today, so we'll see what she has to say tonight as I have a feeling she'll pop round.

Am just about to look for my copy of the Secret and hope to entice OH away from Lara Croft! lol (wish me luck!)
I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

what is the Secret? hope your friend really has had her LBM

I would like to think I have had my LBM but won't post my SOA as I spend £100ish a month on bellydance lessons - but it keeps me happy.

gonna try and make some serious job decisions in the next 2 weeks so need as much positive thinking as possible
  • Evening Soma!

The Secret is a book/DVD/idea believed in and practiced by goodness knows how many people worldwide. Basically, it says "what you think about, you bring about" and is all about positive thinking.

It's an extremely inspiring collection of stories etc. (if you believe in it all). In your case, I'd say, imagine yourself in your ideal/dream job (the job you want now). Everyday, see yourself in that job, be thankful that you have that job. BELIEVE you have that job. Apply for jobs, obviously (this is where my explaining of things makes me look silly coz it makes sense in my head but can't put it into words! lol). Don't give up - your positive thinking acts like a seed in a pot. It needs time and energy to grow. You likely will not see immediate results. But you must feed it that positive energy for it to grow. In time, the seed will become a plant, and your efforts will be visible. The idea is you don't exactly search for the way to make your dream come true but seize an opportunity when you see it. Happy could probably explain how things work better than me, or the DVD itself (my friend downloaded it and thats how I first watched it). I've been an avid fan since the second I saw it, I'm a bit of a nut! lol

Well friend's on her way over for a little visit so we'll see just how 'switched on' she is! ;)

And the bellydancing's great! Everyone needs a release and only you can be the judge of what you 'should' or 'should not' do - my release is my card making - I go for months spending nothing then £30-£50 on a new machine or the latest papers and products! :)

I craft too but I'm seriuosly trying to restrict myself (see siggie). I wish I could go for months without spending on craft stuff. How about checking out ths MSE cardmaking thread. You could start a blog - would love to see your creations. Here is my blog.

will try and check out the secret :)

    Good Evening Long Haulers

Never heard of the Secrets philosophy before but it seems to encourage a positive 'milk bottle half full' way of seeing the world so it can't be too bad.

Belly dancing and crafting are all good too:rotfl: I love to craft and have tried all sorts but sewing is my thing - particularly patchwork and quilting but also sewing anything from clothes to stuff for the house. It seems to be the only thing that I don't lose my temper at if I go wrong:cool:

We have had another family day out today - well afternoon. We went to Richmond Castle and town which was very pleasant and it was quite warm. Also made a new dinner recipe - pork chops (huge 3 for £2.05!) cooked in cider with apples, onions, sage and cream (with new pots and veg) - yummy:) There is no reason whatsoever for anyone to have boring food when on a tight budget! It's amazing where you can find recipes and ideas when you look..

In my yard next to the kitchen DH made me a 6ft by 2ft raised bed and I have loads of herbs and lettuce in there. Next to that is a box with peas growing, a cheap plastic tomato house that I bought last year that has some scrummy green and red peppers and courgettes growing in it and two boxes and tipods of canes growing some french beans. It is North facing and only gets sun on it for about 5 months of the year but everything is growing well in it. We have a South facing long garden and we have loads to do on this yet - we do a bit every year and it has taken us 13 years to get this far LOL We will be growing a lot more next year plus little chickies. Lots of structure work to do though. We have loads of blackberries waiting to ripen and be picked though..

I must say that since taking REAL charge of our finances we seem to be attracting bits of money to help our situation. By taking positive action and being assertive and asking for what we want we are picking up mistakes in bills and getting refunds and we are just on top of things if you see what I mean. I even got the 80p back for those over-charged eggs at the butchers on Friday LOL
