scoobylicious - you have done the hardest part - well done! It is horrible writing them all down - I just don't do it anymore, I hate it. Just like to see one big total which I can gradually chip away at.
Have you plan for how you will tackle it? I frequently have plans - I sit up and worry about it all night, then I formulate this great plan, then two days later I completely change my mind and decide on something different. Ove the years my plans have got more and more bizarre! My current plan involved 'rewarding' the credit cards which are 'nice' to me. I am paying off my Bank of Scotland card the most just now as they have kindly agreed to reduce my normal APR to 9.9% and always give me great balance transfer rates (4.9%). Sainsburys on the other hand keep reducing my credit limit whenever I pay off more, so I 'punish' them by paying off the least amount every month.
I know, this is a very stupid and very wierd way to pay off my cards, but its gives me some small pleasure in my epic fight to reduce debt. We have to get out thrills somewhere I suppose. Maybe I need to have more sex or just get out more...until then, I enjoy playing my own 'games' with the credit card companies. Keeps me amused. I'm sure my plan will have changed by next month anyway!
By the way - I recommend finding a more sensible plan of paying off you debts - it has worked for me, but it perhaps isn't the most sensible way!Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
Hello
Sorry to hear some of you had had emergency cc spends this month. Year so far for me is going ok. Would have had a blip in March with OHs DRO finally going through so £90 cost there plus so other bits n pieces but thankfully the 13th child benefir payment saved me :j.
Got the annual "bonus" so put that in my savings pot until I decide what to do. Joined SW this week a cost I dont really want but cant keep putting on weight starting to outgrow my clothes again. You never know might be a cost saving in teh long run.
Total should be don to 12350 so 31% paid off. Its going to take a while at £250 ish a month without hicups but I guess anything is better than nothing.
Welocme to the newbies - look forward to following your journeys:j0 -

there ya go! welcome!
Just caught up. The adding up is the worst and I felt physically sick when I added mine up but at least now you know and can work to pay it off rather than burying your head in the sand....
Re using the cc...when work became uncertain I realised I couldnt use mine as effectively could be commiting fraud if I did (ie I knew I may not be able to pay it back so knowingly used card when knew I possibly couldnt pay it back) and that has revolutionalised my spending as dont have the psycholigical crutch of a cc so HAD to save cash as an emergency fund...works as once I had done that its built up well...just a thought.
uiet day at home today finishing a blanket off. Re groceries weezl is currently devising a food plan for a family of 4 for 100 a month - healthy, varied and doable with planning....just a thought for those who are struggling with gb!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Big hugs HPGDF - keeping everything crossed for you and OH. What a horrible thing to do on a Friday, leaving you panicking over the weekend. Real nice.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I completely understand where you're coming from Talisker! Since playing on the snowball calculator though, I've changed my punishment to grumpy letters or stuffing their free pre-paid envelopes with their leaflets (without my details!) and sending them back to them!
HTGDF - big hugs honey. I hope it works out in the long run. You've been working so hard. you really deserve some good news for a change! Take care xJan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
