we have to enjoy life an extra month on the journey is not dettemental but no life on the dfw journey can make life extreamley hard. In another 2 months we should have wedding paid for then we just have 2.5k to find for honeymoon in January then we are free to clear our credit cards I think once credit cards are paid all we can do is save because loans don't let you overpay or change the amount you pay unless u reapply which is stupid so we will have to involve my mum who won't let me spend what we have saved unless we are spending it on closing a loan amount. happy to get debt free could you not have a cheapie honeymoon and then go on the mega hol when your debts are down a bit? I know its not ideal but after all your spends a big hol likely to be more like 3500 when you take into account travel, clothes etc. Not trying to be a partypooper but with debts that high definately worth a think...the only hol I've had since my lbm was one that was paid for and another that I won. Cant wait for the day when I can go somewhere luxurious....
Had a nsd here - tidied my bedroom, put second coat of paint on bedside table and done all the chores so this afternoon just chilling and having a snooze...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
we are having honeymoon paid for from our wedding list
so technically we wont have to find much money at all
yes id like not to go to australia but its something my oh and me have wanted to do and we made some big sacrifices last year so i think it is only fair and it doesnt affect the length of time it will take to pay our debt....according to my calculations we should be debt free by july 2012 so if i can shave 7 months off that would be even better but im not killing myself otherwise i may start crazy spending..... i will just be happy to clear wedding and honeymoon....ive come along way since 2007 so im going to let tthe journey take its course

Hi all
have not been on here for a bit & can definitely feel myself slipping back IYSWIM. It starts with selling stuff on ebay, then checking things for sale & before you know it I am buying stuff off eBay.....then online shopping because I am thinking we are a little bit better off now. STOP IT NOW!!!!! - it is dangerous thinking as next thing I will be putting stuff on the CCs again & not paying them off. However, I have to report that today I've paid off the second of the 2 small balance (though large %) CCs - now to start on the big beggars which will be a lot harder I can see. May need some help from the boards on this one as I am really dumb when it comes to moving balances around lol.
Good luck to you all & keep on pushing (those debts down I mean...)New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
how you doing sashanut? Managed to stop unruly shopping? Have done better this month but still 8 days till pay day! Have paid o/d off though so thats 600 paid off...hoping to get barclaycard paid off by end of month! oo just checked egg and paid off final £2 odd and emailed them asking them to close the account, update credit file...at which poin I will celebrate! Have saved actual cc's and will make a framed montage me thinks!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Hi ISOM & everyone!! Hmm well have not actually managed to STOP unriuly shopping - ATM I am doing better because I am sending for clothes(free postage, free returns :T) but since I have put on weight, nothing looks good or fits me - so effectively nothing spent :rotfl:However sooner or later I will get something I like & that fits me........absolutely no need since I have enough clothes to stock a parade of shops, & don't go anywhere much either!!! Have sorted out a bit in my wardrobe - that just sctatching the surface - & will aim to list, list, list on eBbay for Thurs.
One good thing I did do was to pay for petrol on M&S CC (to get points) & then virtuously rang up & paid the cost off (rounded by a couple of £). That was the plan originally but I *kept* forgetting to pay it off so it now total over £4K:eek: When I was in Edinburgh the other week I was in a queue behind an old man, the cashier tol fhim to pay with his M&S card (to get the points) & then walk straight over to the CS & pay the receipt he just got off his card with cash. I did exactly the same & felt very virtuous:A as I paid back the £7 I'd just spent lol...
Once we know what date we're getting paid this month I will look at which cc to start attacking now - they are biggies so it won't be quite so easy...good luck all in the long-haul:D
Got my ex-batt chooks on Sat, all was going very well till I let them out & 2 have disappeared:eek: They must have got out through the security fencing, but though we looked all over for them, no sign. Typical, we have half an acre & they go elsewhere!!! Now we have only 4, but have had 11 eggs in 3 days...:TNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Hi and welcome Willow, ISOM will be along soon to give you a new number. Sashanut - you sound very motivated and I'm jealous of the chickens - would love some. Can you post a sneaky pic of them? Well everything is chugging along as normal in the dub household, I'm paying a little more on my DMP, its increased by £20. not much in the grand scheme of things, but all going in the right direction. Take care, PMA x0

Hello there dubgirl.
Thanks for the welcome, I really want to get started on a DMP but it seems I don't have enough over at the end of the month so I am going to call the nation dentline today to see if they can help?
