  • I realised yesterday that I only have one more payment left of my AA loan in May meaning in June I am £174 better off at long last! Better make plans to tackle the CC then.......can't wait until I have paid off the £7500 plus interest.

  • Budget out of the window at the moment. OH incharge of my bank card . He is usually very good so hopefully not too bad.

Bad news is all three kids need new shoes, DS needed new trousers so OH has been to Tescos already and to top it off all three kids and probably me have headlice. Treated the kids on Thursday so will redo tonight/tomorrow. A paid at the best of times but worse with a knackered OH and me with my useless foot.

Nevermind onwards and upwards have to laugh etc etc

    Hope you all ok

Well I got a shick when I checked cc's 9333 - the highest ever! Weezl is coming up with a cunning plan (think financial boot camp!!) to get me back on the straight and narrow...will let you know what the cunning plan is when I do!! She is coming up with a pay of by 40 (August) plan so will see later what she thinks I can pay off in that time...

  • ISOM Im sure having weezl on board will help alot. Having another pair of eyes and all that.

Shoe shopping came to £87 for six pairs, OH brought DD1 some cheap school trousers and £10 for hedrin. Worth it though as washing everyones hair this morning was easier than all that combing.

Got a small pay rise :j:j:jso that will help the eventual cut in tax credits that usually hits in August.

    Other than that stil boooooored.

I would like to join the long haulers.
I am not sure how you are able to calculate your DFD and would appreciate some guidance on this as I would like to create a signature.
My estimate is that all things being as they are today I will be Debt Free no earlier than 2015, it could be sooner it could be later. As it is mainly credit cards and overdrafts I cannot easily know my payments and interest so any advice on how you calculate this would be appreciated.

I had my LBM last summer (well my wife and I) and we are aware of our debts and are working through things and are much more budget conscious.
We have cleared 4500 since then but still have a long way to go.....
But thanks to this site we understand our outgoings and have got a good 0% credit card which we are loading up to the limit and will be doing more comparisons when they are appropriate to get the best deals.

Welcome stan...will give you a number from home tonight!
Yes having weezl is fab - she is a great friend (as is mr weezl and fergaloo just grogeous and my best boy!) and also supa dupa at spreadsheets and being frugal...possibly for me NOT going shopping will be the hardest but teh most effective plan! I will have an escort to the bead shop at the w/e to save me from myself! Have got two more comissions today though so thats another 20!!

  • Welcome Stan

Google Snowball calculator to work out your DFD an excellent tool. Youll need to know the account balances and APR rates.

    Actually try this link http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx

Well done on clearing 4.5k and getting 0% deals it all adds up. Long haul I find is about being the preverbial tortoise and not the hare. Also be prepared for ups and downs that will inevitabally show up (for me its the broken ankle at the moment!)

  • Hello ISOM

Have you calculated your profit margin on the beads so far? IE listed costs verses income. I found that I tended to overspend on the bodyshop so profits werent as goods as they should have been. Also other costs such as petrol and admin stuff need to be considered.
