May I be added as a long hauler. I have £50,620 in unsecured debt and £18,743 on my car. I aim to clear these first then tackle my mortgage!!

    Hi Chandler89!
Dubgirl - I feel for you! It is true, the minute you get a bit extra, someone snatches it from you before you even have a chance to think. That does sound a lot. Have you double and triple checked the meter readings? Stupid question, but is your house/flat all nicely insulated etc?
I'd definitely double check the bill though, and at least you have the extra money from the mortgage. A bit of rubbish silver lining I know, but at least the extra won't be going on a CC!
Passing you some PMA, I don't have much spare but I can give you a little bit! :o

Chandler, your signature is more detailed than mine, I don't think I'd have space to list it all individually!! Maybe once some of the smaller ones are gone I'll expand a little, I like seeing peoples decreasing numbers though, its good motivation!

Hi Rambling Tree - we're all in the same boat:beer: . I guess as long as we are able to reduce the debt it doesn't really matter how much detail we give!! I just thought I'd stick it all up there - the credit cards are listed highest interest rate first - so its rather apt that it will be the virgin to go first!!!

Hi all & welcome chandler89: I saw you over on the self-employed board as I am on there & a long-hauler too. I also haven't listed my debts in detail - thinking I might be identified - but I have CC debts about the same level as your own, plus business debts also (overdraft & CC, plus corp tax due in Sept of £5.500) so a simliar scenario. Haven't mananged to make any extra paymnet in March; since we only just got paid yesterday for January's work!! However, I aim to make 2 payments in April if I can get off my behind ......

Had today off, so to speak, done all the grocery shopping for the month & ran loads of errands. Now tomorrow I need to get myself motivated as we are off for the weekend so I won't get anything done then. Good luck all & aim to give it some welly tomorrow if you haven't today!

Hi sashanut. It's good to know there are others in the same position. Can't believe I let things get so bad. 2008 is a year I would really like to forget. It would be good if the government helped small businesses/self employed. Instead, it feels like an uphill struggle to be entrepreneurial....Moan, moan. I'm off home now. Have a great evening everybody!

welcome C! Big hugs for you...its so hard this debtbusting...esp if s/e as its so uncertain at the mo and pepys not spending as much...

PMA coming your way dubgirl! This week has been hard as felt like I have done nowt but work in one form or another - work work, then home to make jewellry work and babysitting work...thank gladys its friday!! Plus next wek is a supa gladys as its bank hol (as in glad-is)...
Thanks also for the compliment black taxi...long haul is tough going because its so long and being able to support each other in the ups and downs is fab. Was saying to someone I just wont know what to do with myself when its all paid off...have long holidays maybe!! Suspect that there will always be a shopping lover in me but the habits are ingrained now...spent over 100 on beading stuff and almost had a heart attack..before wouldnt have batted an eye lid! Now I'm almost hyperventilating! Plus people have been very compliemntary about my jam and jewellry which is lovely...would never have done all that without pople here...
    How are others doing?
For the newbies my single piece of advice is to break it down into small chunks...much more managable that way and means you feel you are getting somewhere! When I started at 37000 I never would have believed I'd even get this far...most of mine (bar 8000) is loans and just trying to track the cc's...
