Well done KP on putting OD on CC @ 0%, as you say it should be alot easier to pay off. ISOM great post & I can see your point entirely. I/we too need a kick up the aris as whilst we aren't slipping back into our old ways, we have taken our eyes off the ball a little & need to get back into the swing of things & step it up a gear. We are both doing more hours but at the same time are not doing the things that are 'painless' debtbusting i.e. not doing our regular shop at Aldi etc. I agree with every point you have made & whilst I am not doing as much overtime as I was when it was making me feel ill, I know that I am at my limit & our quality of life isn't the best it could be, with me working 6 days a week & OH working most weekends, a night out together or as a family is becoming more & more difficult. Personally I think that I'm coming to a bit of a crossroads in life & the post I read from Buffy the other day about her thinking about leaving her job really made me think. I am quite content in my job but the company are starting to chip away at everything giving us more & more work to do & morale is very low and it does make me think do I want to be working there for the next 30 years? That's if I don't get made redundant before then. Not even at the starting blocks yet but I may have something in the pipeline, but obviously need to go into it with my eyes wide open, but there is a major company where I live who have won a massive contract & a friend of my Brother's is quite high up there & he has more or less offered my Brother a job if he wants one & my Brother is going to put a word in for me. Like I say if anything does materialise I obviously can't afford to go into it without knowing all the ins & outs but from what I already know, the money is much better than where I am now. But as I said it isn't even at the starting point yet so not going to get my hopes up! I also agree about the hols. Really fancied a weekend away next month when I'm off but hand on heart, we cannot afford it with saving for wedding. The thing that hits home is we could have easily afforded it if we were DF. I have said before in my diary about friends passing away & being very ill etc. & it does put things into perspective, but at the same time I don't think most of us in debt can be 100% happy until our debts are cleared or at least well under control. I have a week off next month which will help me clear my head & hopefully get these debts shifted alot quicker. Thanks for reading & sorry about the long post! Back tomorrow!!
Well my Brother starts new job next week & has a 3 & a half year contract, but there should be more contracts in the pipeline. The money he will earn has made me a little green with envy to be honest & I am so tempted to ask him to put a word in for me, but I really do need to weigh up everything. My job is as safe as a job can be so it would be a massive risk if I did leave. Not saying that I would get a job with my Brother, but his pal who got him the job said that he is looking for people who are reliable & from what I can gather it is an easy job to be trained at but very repetitive, so would I like to be stuck in a factory 8hrs or more a day doing something repetitve? The money is over £100 more than I'm on now per week + there's plenty of overtime, so we would probably clear our debts alot quicker, but as the job is through an agency, I don't think that I'd be able to pay into the company pension & am unsure about holiday pay, sick pay etc. & if things didn't work out & I was to go back to working where I am now I would lose alot of benefits & would also only be able to go back part time, as the company no longer take on full timers. I guess I'll wait until he settles in & see if he likes it & the money really is as good as rumoured before making any decisions.
Said we weren't going to do it but off to Blackpool tomorrow for the day & night. It's £63 for a family room for the night & breakfast, so it isn't too pricey. We really do need a little break as we have both been working our butts off & it will be the last time we get away before our wedding next year & it will be nice to take DD, if only to keep her off the computer for a couple of days:D . It has been an expensive month, but we should have managed toclear another coupleof £100 by the end of the month. Thanks for reading & I will keep you posted on what I decide to do regarding job!

Well done on the £4k Jonnyboy, £8k was too much for us to aim for too, but hopefully as a couple of loans come to an end in a couple of years we can aim for somewher around that figure!
