aww hugs for you JB! Look how well youve done so far though! If you really scrimped could you pay off an extra 39.42 by the end of the month IYKWIM? Could use it as a mini challenge maybe?

Cheers ISOM, but just realised I hadn't updated my sig!! Have moved my £6000 debt from Capital One over to MBNA at 2.9% til next Jan but the 2% balance transfer fee of £120 has pushed up my totals a bit this month. Oh well hopefully can knock a bit more off next month!!!

Hi all! Well as some of you may have read some of my posts on other threads, you will see that we are taking a much slower process to dealing with our debts, so we don't miss out on things that we enjoy doing or treating ourselves now & again. That said, OH is doing more shifts at work & still waiting to go full time as it all has to go through the proper channels(she is swapping contracts with a full timer) & I have recharged my batteries after a week off so will put in a bit more overtime if I feel like it, so we will make sure we keep our eyes on the ball & things should start falling into place & the debts will start to go down a little quicker, but as long as we achieve our DFD of February 2013, we will be more than happy!! Hope everyone else is OK!!

Hi everyone, ltm, dont worry about taking the slow route, we are clearing our debts at a snails pace, but I've come to terms with that now, at least we have our health, happiness and DS. your family and your health are the most important things. Feeling a bit low as OH has gone away tonight for a weeks training for the new job, missing him already. also not a sniff of interest in the Saab, dont know why not, it is not overpriced. I can see us selling it to the garage that offered us £1000 for it, will make a huge loss, but guess there is a lesson in there somewhere!
  • Hi guys, I have been away for about a year but in that time I havn't made any real progress with my situation am now looking at a DFY of 2014 and really want to join this thread! Please can I have a number? ~X~

  • oooh 118, I like it! Well what can I say, my "situation" started about 4 years ago when I applied for a bank loan of £1k with my bank, they said if I took £3k I would get a better rate, I didn't need £3k but I thought what they hey, I spent all of it and really had nothing to show for it, I ran up my overdraft to £1500 and when that got difficult to live with I consolidated it into the loan, and from there all hell broke loose. Consolidation seems like the quick fix answer to everything but with my mentaliltiy I just ran up the overdraft again, I bought a car on HP and then rolled that into the loan as I had to sell it before I had finished paying for it as I got a company car with my job and could not afford to be taxed on the company car and pay out for my own, I changed jobs about a year later and I bought another car, got bored with that one and rolled it into the loan, bought a car outright with money I was given as a gift which blew up after two months and i couldn't afford to repair which meant I went out and bought yet another bloomin car! This one will be paid off in Feb and I will NOT roll it into this blasted loan, anywho that first loan should have been finished this year, but I have 7 years left to pay back £23611.38  I really wish I could rewind time, but I bet everyone else on here does too! I know I got myself into this mess but luckily at the moment I can afford to pay it back. When I finally pay off the last installment (which I'm hoping will be sooner than Oct 2014) I will never get credit again, I have learnt from this but its taken a long time :o .

Sorry to ramble on, felt good to offload it all tho. Will update the siggy with my number! ~x~
