I think it's a case of miscommunication hun. The daily thread was always Moozie's thing and the reins were handed to you, so to speak, so I can see why it's bothering you but *hugs* and please don't go getting yourself too down about it.
Maybe a PM to said member?
they wont accept pm's... and to be honest i think its past saving. Kinda given up on it all now... anyways this thread is going off topic, i was just voicing my opinion earlier, please forgive me.0 -
:grouphug: Hi Pap,
Sorry you're feeling so down about this. I can totally understand why you feel pushed out. I'd probably be the same in your position. I don't think it's intentional though - more just a case of someone pretty new getting a bit too enthusiastic too soon.
I for one am keen for you to keep going with it. It seems like it's your baby so I'll keep posting to your thread as long as it's there.
My moozies for the last week came to £13.82. Sticking to a budget of £15 for this week again.

Okay - it's 'hands up time' It was ME who PaP is quoting, in post 2, although I believe there were others who felt the same.
I joined DFW back in June of 2006 and used to 'look at' the original 'Moozie's What have you/will you spend, and weekly challenge' thread. It took me a while to realise just how important this thread was to anyone, especially me, in learning the importance of not only setting weekly budgets, but also sticking to them.
I soon became one of moozie's regular posters and have to say that I have gotten great benefits from participating in both the weekly challenge and the daily spend 'regime'.
Moozie was the originator of the thread, but, due to personal reasons she has been absent from the board for a while, but it was obvious that she had been 'grooming' PaP to look after the thread when she couldn't post, and PaP was the 'natural' choice to take the reins of the thread when our beloved leader moved away from the boards.
PaP has carried out this role, superbly, for several months, now, and the thread has gone from strength to strength.
Now we all appreciate that PaP's work pattern means that she can not always start the thread and several of us, including myself, have stepped in when she hasn't been around first thing.
However there has, always, been an unwritten acceptance that we would wait until 10 o'clock or so, and we would hand the reins of the thread back to PaP as soon as she turned up.
I appreciate that 'ad' gets up earlier than the majority of us, and that he doubtless has no other motive than 'trying to help' by starting the thread, so I do NOT mean him any criticism whatsoever.
For me, at least, Moozie and PaP, are the mainstays of the daily spend thread, and it has always been their 'special' kind of banter, with the underlying message of 'keeping it low' and even occasional 'tough love' tactics that has not only kept the thread special, but also made the 'spending message' work for me.
I just feel that, whilst I do not doubt for one second that his heart is in the right place, ad does not put the same 'stamp of authority' on the thread.
I, among many, would be very sad to see PaP stop posting on the spend thread, or to stop doing the weekly challenge, with all the work it involves.
But I do understand how she feels.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hello Pap:hello:,
OK, last week I spent £70 and I've no idea what on
(OK, I do know what I spent it on; it was sexy lingerie, hosiery, fish and chip supper because I really couldn't be bothered to cook and lunch at work because some thieving git stole my lunch (again).
Can you bob me down for £50 for next week again please?

My thoughts exactly. I've stopped posting my spends everyday, as it now doesn't seem as important on the other thread IYSWIM.
I doubt the other poster means to 'steal' the thread, and prob thinks he is just helping out as he is up early, and if I'm not mistaken he's a new poster and prob doesn't realise the thread 'belongs' to Moosie & Pap.
Anyway...I can pretty much scratch the last week, spent way too much and couldn't keep track, I spent the weekend drinking and used cash which I don't usually, so I can't total it up.
Back to normal now, time to resume my usual routine. Stick me down for a tenner Pap. Nothing I need to get this week (I think)Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

I managed to spend exactly £17 :j
Not quite sure how I managed it exactly - but I'm very pleased with that.
I've decided in my challenge for the week I will leave out my diesel cost, as it's already budgeted for and it's not exactly a 'frivolous' spend
So, my estimate for this week is:
£2.00 on daily paper
£2.00 contingency
£3.00 on Morrisons BOGOF chocolate (if the offer is still on)
£2.64 at my Slimming club
Rounded up, this is £10
I know I'm fairly new here, but I have to say that I get great benefit from the daily thread - I would definitely still be my compulsive shopping self if not for recording my spend here, and, without wishing to do anyone a disservice, I appreciated the way you (PaP) ran the thread and the support you gave. I would be very sorry if the thread were no longer started by yourself (although I would still use it as I couldn't at the moment do without it)[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
I'm in the green this week - £5.41 spent for me.
Re: the daily thread - I know exactly what you mean. Sending you big ((HUGS)) as I didn't realise this had got you down so much. Like the others have said, I think it may just be a question of crossed wires, but I miss you doing the thread. xx

Hi again pap - I too am sorry you're unhappy at the way the daily thread has gone.
Perhaps we should all only post on it if it's started by you - unless it gets really late in the day? Why don't you politely point out the points you made in post 2 of this thread to ar******ck on today's daily thread (started by him)?DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.
