Last year I took my tree down on the 14th of Dec. My tree looked a right mess! Tinsel dangling everywhere, and it had been half shredded in the night, it was constantly being knocked over, or used as as bed, once she started chewing the wires for the lights I took it down. Im going to stick chunks of oranges and lemons in the tree this year, see if it will keep the furball away!0

You can't:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Sorry but I have never managed to keep the cats off anything they wanted to climb.
The only thing I can think of is to relocate the tree to somewhere in the house that you can shut the door on it while you are out so at least your cat isn't climbing unsupervised.
I once came in too find the tree angel replaced by a cat clinging on for dear life.....she couldn't figure out how to get down....did make me laugh as I went for a stepladder to rescue her0 -
Spray/drop lemon juice onto the bottom branches (or more if necessary). Cats will stay away (so I'm told!)

Lol, mine never climbed it but had hours of fun flicking the lower decorations.0

I don't have a Christmas tree, or decorations - they are just more things for the cats to trash! :rotfl: A friend ended up tying hers to the roof beams and wall as her cats kept getting it down, I'd rather not bother as I'd just end up having to rescue the cats as they'd try to untie the tree!0

Do you lot have your trees up already?
Mine always goes up christmas eve and comes down new years day!
I think it makes it feel more chrismassy if its only up for a little while, and would save you weeks of cat related stress!!0 -
My tree goes up on the 1st just because I love Christmas and comes down on the 6th January (Little Christmas) as per tradition.
My OH's colleague makes his children take the tree and decs down on Boxing Day. Bah Humbug!0
