I gave them the reading for 19th October some days ago. It appears on the web account meter reading page ,as from 3rd November, but with an explanation:-
    "
    Thanks for your opening reading!
First Utility will shortly be your new energy supplier! You'll soon be enjoying our great prices, friendly customer service, and innovative features.
If you are not yet on supply with First Utility, the date shown for your opening reading will be for the day your utility supply commences, not the date you entered."

The CSA said that the reading would be used to close account with Usio. What I'm not very clear about, is who is getting the s/charges from 19th October to 3rd November -presumed it was FU.
EDIT - I can't add today's reading anyway despite the email rec'd today!!

Please keep us informed how this works out; I am intrigued as to why FU seemingly "allowed" you to give them a reading as at 19th October, and are then going to use this as an "opening" reading for 3rd November ??

Well something is happening - according to the Western Power site I haven't got an electricity supplier now!!
The FU site has updated slightly -still saying switch isn't complete but allowing me to input a new meter read HOWEVER not going to,as the reading that I gave them for c/over on the 19th October is still showing as the 3rd November - if I put in the current reading it'll look like I'm using ~ 70,000 kwh pa:eek:

Still switch isn't complete ! No sign of my credit being transferred from Usio - by the time they get their proverbial finger out , all the current fixes will have been pulled - as far as I can see ,for my usage one of their fixed 2020 tariffs would actually be cheaper than this "deal" they have given us:(
  • Electricity reading taken on 3rd November now showing on account as the opening reading. I guess this means I have fully switched Electricity? I also presume Usio tariffs will apply up to the 3rd November. No sign of credit balance from Usio or a request for a gas reading...

    1. Looking at my FU account this a.m , even tho' the meter reading is showing ,there is nothing else on there re tariff, credit balance, reqd payments etc -so I take that to mean that the switch hasn't completed.
    2. I assume that the Usio tariff will apply up to the opening reading BUT it isn't clear which s/charges will apply from 19th October to 3rd November.
  • so just to let everyone know our tariff is now listed on cheap energy club (First USIO April 2019) so we can now compare it to other tariffs :)

Hi - we welcome supplier representatives. Sadly, too many get bruised and battered by criticism (some of it well deserved) and never post again.

Looking at Bazman's other post, I don't think that he represents a supplier at all.

Pleased to report that First Utility is now shown as BOTH my electricity supplier AND gas supplier, having checked through my electrical distributor, Western Power, and Findmysupplier for Gas.

That's good, then, because I've just started a switch away from First Utility!

For the first time, I'm trying separate suppliers - Zog have got a fixed 2-year deal on gas, so I've gone for that one, and Yorkshire Electricity fixed 1 year for electricity. Both of these have no penalties for early switching.
