    Afternoon all :)
    Tired.com today :(
Drs appointment this morning, need an xray
Took some items to sales unit, brought some back
HM soup from fridge for lunch :)
Shopping today, not too much spent, must update spreadsheet
Did RM surveys stuff, don't like their new web site, which makes it take twice as long to do the same thing :(
    Banks to check
Leftover risotto will do for dinner
Must cook some turkey thighs I got out of the freezer, to slice for sandwiches tomorrow, as we are going out. Will take a picnic lunch as food at the venue we are going to is expensive, not very nice and you have to queue for ages!
Just lit stove and sat in front of it :) Must get on in a minute!

    * Just booked an Airbnb away down south in Dumfries and Galloway for Monday night for DW's birthday. This will be our second Airbnb experience and the place looks amazing.

    * Homemade meatballs for dinner.

Laughing at Ally's idea of 'down south', is that like us Londoners thinking anything north of Watford is 'up north'?!?

I've had a lovely day, the weather was nice enough to have all the doors and windows open and I washed all the floors.

I also ventured to a new DIY place to buy some light bulbs on the off chance that I had a dud pack and that the light fittings don't need replacing and they only bloomin' work! I was *so* close to replacing them I'd even won some new ones on eBay (which I never got around to collecting *cough*) and now I don't need to!

Not so good, I checked out their garden centre bit and their raspberry canes were half the price of the ones I've just ordered, I hope mine are somehow better!

I have cut out all the pennants for the bunting I am making at my mum's tomorrow, there are a couple I'd really like myself if they don't sell, I shall price them at something extortionate enough that I won't mind selling them if someone wants them :D

Dinner was a home N@ndo's with some lovely black pepper chips which came as a substitution, yummy.

Morning guys :D Feeling a little wobbly after a night out :o It was a fun evening. FvD I ended up just going in a dress (not fancy dress though). I'm glad I didn't as it wasn't that kind of event :)

Today I have been up for aggggggeeeeeeeessssssss! Not much to show for it, although I am pottering my way through tidying up d/s :money:

Today we are seeing dd and celebrating Mother's Day - I was working last w/e. Not quite sure what the plan is yet...

I am going to Mr M to pick up their meat deal https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/5805863/morrisons-meat-pack-10/

(seen on the Elitte 11+ thread - have been spending time there the last week...)

And A$da as they have whole salmon for £4.99 kg so will get the fish monger to fillet it ;)

Think I might do this shortly.

    Also will:

    * do load of washing & hang up
    * get some wine and crisps while out for a thing I'm hosting tonight - a group of girlfriends are coming round to make sanitary pads :D:cool::money:
    * tidy up for said gathering
    * updated spending diary
    * grate cheese & make breadcrumbs and freeze
    * check through fridge and make sure anything needed gets used/frozen

Gosh that's all I can think of! Have a great Saturday guys :A

  • Oh I have a big bit of news! We got a letter yesterday one of the ppi claims I did for oh came back with an offer of £336. I think we can challenge it as well for exceptional circumstances.

They have only paid 50% of it as they said they wrote to him in 2013 inviting him to make a complaint. But they wrote to an address we no longer lived at. Additionally at this time it was when my daughter was really ill and our lives were hellish. It was enough just to get through each day and manage to go to work.

Given this I think there's room to appeal it. What do you guys think?

It's exactly like that. Dumfries and Galloway is nearly England...that's abroad.

    Morning all.

Busy weekend ahead as have my twinbabies 2nd birthday tomorrow - eek!
We also go on holiday for a week next friday afternoon and have nothing packed or sorted - double eek!:eek:
    So:

:A finish cake using store cupboard ingredients
:A make chicken and bacon pie filo pie for tea using stores
:A make pear tarte tatin to use up leftover filo and over ripe pears (also makes the most of the oven being on)
    :A 5p roadkill
:A £30 paid to MBNA from survey money
:A try to do a bit of packing
:A allowed an extra £20 in shopping budget as I'm catering a birthday party for 10 gluttons and also needed extra nappies, wipes and snacks for our trip next week - came in at £77 so only £7 over my normal budget (and £5.20 of that was the nappies and wipes :T)

    Frugal holiday challenge

so, i had several holidays booked pre LBM - I've paid for the main trips but none of the extras. i cant cancel so I'm challenging myself to do them as frugally as possible. The next trip is 4 nights in euro disney and 3 nights in london plus a night before at the station due to early train

:A got travelodge for night before for £20 and £4 cashback via quidco offer
:A bought a family rail card with tesco clubcard points so got railfare to London for less than £60 for the 5 of us.
:A will also use railcard to buy a tube pass.
:A used clubcard points to get tickets for tower of London (4x value deal)
:A used more clubcard points to get some restaurant vouchers (4x value deal) which will take care of 2 evening meals
:A will go to some free museums on other days.
:A spends have been funded by selling stuff and doing surveys
:A have bought loads of snacks from HB for the trip (using shopping budget) to stave off the £1 chocolate bar munchie attacks
:A will go to supermarket on arrival and get milk, breakfast stuff and fruit.
:A got premier inn in London for £32 a night by stalking the site over several days - not quite central but only 1 min walk from tube so all good. Have used leftover travel expenses to pay for this.

So, all in all I think thats quite frugal considering AND nothing has gone on the credit card like it usually would - its all been paid for from regular or extra earned income. I'm calling that a WIN :T
Total debts £21050! now £10941. 76. Total extra income made in Jan22 £109. 27 Feb 22 £45.25 Total extra income made in 2022 £154.52 Aiming for debt free at 45 - 41 months to go!

    Hi March Money Magicians,

Enjoying my day's holiday. It's snowing a wee bit.

    Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.

    * Check online banking and broadband usage.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Went for a walk earlier to do some photo-gra-faffing. DW thought one of her lenses was broken. Turns out she'd pressed the wrong button. :rotfl: Then I went out alone for a stroll with DW's spare camera, got to my destination and realised the battery was flat. :( Walked home to change the battery and tried again. :) Glad I bothered as I got some rather interesting shots of a Herring Gull murdering a Crab. :exclamati

    * Walked to delivery office to pick up parcels for DW's birthday tomorrow.

    * Nearly have enough Morrison's More points to get a £5 voucher pay out.

    * DW's free bus pass has arrived. She is deliriously happy.

    * Free Meerkat toy arrived following insurance purchase. That'll make an extra gift for DW's birthday.

    Afternoon all :)
Back home now, we went out early to miss the crowds and came home early. Nice day, and all I bought was some foodie bits (saw things that I would like, but had a word with myself, as I don't need them :A). We took a picnic lunch, and OH bought us a coffee :D I had bought tickets in advance online as it was cheaper, and avoided queueing which would not have been pleasant in the freezing wind
It is bitterly cold again, and snowing, though it doesn't appear to be laying. We had to take a circuitous route home, as the main road had been closed by the police, and there was snow heaped up at the side of some of the little lanes we used - this snow was from last time, and had obviously been heaped so high that it hadn't had chance to melt  This was only about an hour away from here, but over the border into the next county. The conditions had obviously been much worse than here :( Need spring back now!

    Other things:
HG cooked fruit from freezer for breakfast instead of bought fresh fruit :)
    RM surveys tasks to do
Must look online for the strange assortment of odds and ends that GD2 has requested for her 11th birthday, seems to be stuff for art projects (pipe cleaners? masking tape? plaster of paris?)
    Check banks and update spreadsheets
Leftover bean chilli for dinner, with a couple of the sausages I bought at today's event :)

But mainly keep warm by wood stove, while watching sideways snow out of the window!
