If it's a cashback deal you need to understand completely how they work. For cashback they are like no other in terms of paying - as long as they don't go bust. I stopped using them when they faile to pay Quidco cashback (on two contracts) and the deals weren't so good, otherwise I wouldn't be using anyone else. They also messed up their own payment months on three deals towards the end - but that wasn't really a problem since I ensured we still got paid.
Very poor experiences on phone delivery last time too; took weeks with little to no communication. In fact, I've never know them deliver according to the timescales they quote. Apart from that, why wouldn't you use them? Third party providers are usually cheaper than networks direct.0 -
Ordered my iPhone 6 from them back in the day with no issues.0

I have been using mobilephonesdirect for six or seven contracts over the recent years, because their deals with Talkmobile used to be quite good, and they used to pay Topcashback, and used to pay the cashback claims promptly.
However, their post-Talkmobile deals are not nearly as good, and they declined the Topcashback on my latest contract.
I have put a claim into Topcashback, and await to see whether they honour the Topcashback. I will then have to see whether they honour the five cashback claims that I will be making over the next 24 months.
I regret taking the contract with mobilephonesdirect, particularly because only a week or so after I took that contract, several networks separately phoned or texted me with competitive sim-only offers that do not involve cashback.0 -
Used MPD before, was easy with claiming the cashback. I would have gone with them again if I could. If it is a cashback deal just make sure you stick to the rules, dont put off submitting the relevant bill and do it when it needs to be submitted.0

TCB won't. I had the same issue with two contracts via Quidco. They not refused to pay up but lied about what MPD had told them. I cancelled my membership with Quidco after having the same issue with TCB over two Mobiles.co orders. Cashback sites nowadays simply can't be trusted.
MPD has and will pay cashback fast as lightening - provided you follow the groundrules and they are still around to pay up. I've had dozens of contracts from them for myself and others, but stopped using them after the Quidco distaste.0 -
I have also had my TopCashBack cashback with Mobile Phones Direct declined. TCB tell me it is Mobile Phones Director who have declined the cashback. I also would not have used Mobile Phones Direct (I also had a problem initially with my order with Mobile Phones Direct - now they have apparently declined my cashback as no referral showing. If that is the case how come TopCashBack are showing the claim?). Not happy and unlikely to use either again.0

Yep. I've now had a third declined via TCB now I stopped using Quidco because of it. Different excuse to the other two but same result. My days using TCB are now also numbered. I won't allow cashback sites and dealer to rip me off like this. Stopped using CPW after scores of contracts when they started declining cashback. Unlike the cashback contracts themselves, you can't enforce it if they refuse to pay (did go to the FOS on one a while back but they said it's not covered by their remit, even though I'd had an email from the cashback site saying they were regulated by the FCA.0 -
Crooked, deceitful, defrauding, dishonest, double-dealing company ever!
Do not go near Mobile Phones Direct0 -
Got a phone from them last November, had it 4 days and just didn't get on with it so returned it.
They claimed there was damage to the phone making it in an "unresalable condition" and demanded I pay £100 or they wouldn't cancel my airtime contract!
I argued and complained but they refused to budge so I had to pay.
I complained to the company direct and after 4 short months got a reply, saying that
"we're unable to issue you a reimbursement of the £100 as you have already paid this and, by extension, accepted liability for the damage in question."
I asked if this was company policy and they confirmed it was.
I would never use again and actively discourage anyone from using. Looking at the posts on here it looks like they were a good company once but now have gone downhill dramatically.0 -
I tell company's that refuse that I will take it to court and email them a copy of the judgement in my favour then if they don't pay in 28 days the money plus my out of pocket costs I will send bailiffs to either get the money or remove goods to be sold at auction. Once a bailiff turns up they will do anything to give the money.Someone please tell me what money is0
