I know! But a third of a year is still a long timeI hope
:rotfl:
Not heard of that Fortune, will investigate, thank you :j
Just doing a round up of Matched Betting for the end of the month
March: £163
April: £812
May: £872
June: £552
July: £591
August: £570
TOTAL: £3560
:money: Not bad at all :money:
Going to set myself a target of at least £600 a month for the rest of the year in a bid to build savings back up after the building project :eek:0 -
That's a great amount from matched betting Cheery! :T
Final third of the year is a great way to look at it from a goal setting point of view, but I'm not even going to think about autumn for another two weeks (and if the weather's nice, longer still!)
Surely all that scything is good for the diet?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Gosh I am SO VERY TIRED
Stayed up working til 10pm the last two nights and was back at my desk at 7am and only stopped at 4.30 but I have FINALLY submitted my application for promotion :j
Good grief. It's take so much out of me though. 26 pages of "here are all the reasons why I am brilliant and will continue to be brilliant forever'
Can't say it's perfect, but if I don't get it, it'll be because there's something they think I haven't *done* not because I didn't sell myself and what I have done.
Dashed out to the cafe at 4.30 because I have been promising myself cake when I"d finished since 7 this morningalthough as it happened they were nearly closing and didn't have my favourite cake left anyway :rotfl:
Change of scenery was nice though, even if I do now have to drive home to get Mr Cheery so we can go out for celebratory tea (and drive back past the cafe again ... oh dear, today is not turning out very MSE is it?)
Had an email from third builder last night :j quoting £3500 which is £4800 ish with VAT, so about £2k lower than next cheapest - and also more in line with what we budgeted when we worked out material costs and how long we thought it would take.
However he's since texted to say he's made a mistake calculating labour costs so will send a revised estimate tonight.
Surely it can't go up another £2k? In which case he will still be both the cheapest and the most cheerful, so fingers crossed...
Right, off to get Mr Cheery :j0 -
Well, as it happened, our favourite restaurant was closed for refurbishment  Until 1st October!! So all that driving was for nothing.
We ended up going to the supermarket for treatsAnd spent rather less than we would have in the restaurant, and also have practical things like milk and fruit and cheese as well :money: So not all bad.
Just cannot get going todaywhich is bad because of course now I'm on to the next deadline - my diploma portfolio is being assessed on Tuesday    I do NOT like to make life easy for myself!! :rotfl:
Still, the sun is shining and we have reached the time in the day where the sunlight hits my little solar whirling crystal thing in the window and fills the room with little dancing rainbows that look like fish :j :j Favourite time of the day :j
So. I have to do 10 designs, plus some overview writing. Designs 1-5 have, fortunately, already been signed off (thank goodness!)
As for the others..
6. Mostly finished and on the website, need to add in a little bit at the end
7. Scribbles in a notebook - needs considerable work...
8. Drafted and half on website, will need to also draw some maps
9. Drafted, just needs typing onto website and photos adding (and one map)
10. Drafted, might just draw this one on a big sheet of paper and put a photo of it on the website :rotfl:
Only really got today and tomorrow, and a bit of time on Monday evening which I'd rather not spend. Already feeling like I want to go back to bed for a nap
Plan is to get the rest of 8 onto website and then stop for lunch.
Then get 9 onto website and stop for a break.
Then finish off 6
Then make a start on 7 (the big one).
Tomorrow will have to mostly be focused on 7, and finishing off the maps for the others. I'd love to have a play with Prezi for 10, but I could lose hours doing thatand I don't have hours to lose
So I'm going to leave it til last, because it could equally well be presented by drawing on a big piece of paper with some big pens (one of my favourite activities :rotfl: )
Right, more tea, and then I'd best get on. Wish me luck! :j0 -
Wow, very best of luck with all that! Thats a lot, lot. Though being surrounded by solar powered rainbows is also good
Remember there's still cake!

That's exactly what I thought about that workload. Best of luck from me too Cheery.
Cake? , who's got cake? :rotfl: Never known Cheery to mention cake ever :rotfl: Endless cups of tea maybe but definitely no cake :rotfl:

Cake? Me? Never, hate the stuff
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well, yes, it was rather a lot, wasn't it? I have literally just finished design 8, which, if you were paying attention, was the one I was going to 'finish quickly before stopping for lunch'
Tomorrow is not looking like it's going to be calm and peaceful... :rotfl:

Think anyone who has that level of commitment to learning/development outside of work is amazing. Well done cheery0

Aw, thanks lovely folks :kisses3:
I love learning new things, and always have some kind of project on the go, both inside work (usually over and above what I'm officially required to do) and outside. This diploma has been very long and spread out - you have to do it over 'at least two years' and I've dawdled over it for about five :rotfl: but a buddy and I decided we were finally going to finish our portfolios and accredit at the same time, which means portfolios being marked this month
Speaking of which, I still haven't finished:eek: :rotfl:
Still, designs 8 & 9 are done and on the website :j
I'm going to put the finishing touches to design 7 this morning before we trot to the cafe (where I will do my weekly review and figure out just exactly what got put off work-wise last week while my head was elsewhere)
Work actually owes me a day and a half of holiday, so I'm planning to get what work NEEDS doing today done this morning, and then spend the afternoon/evening on the portfolio.
Plan is to get as many bits ready that can actually be signed off tomorrow - and then if I need to send a final design online so be it. No point turning up with several half-finished signs as then none of them will be able to be marked!
Right, best get on with it...0
