well done on the job Cheery - good for you for having a cheeky school-night celebration!
Boo to the boiler though - what a pain. Hopefully the bypass thing will work at least in the short term so you can have heating and you'll be able to get someone to sort it out properly pretty quickly.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Evening chums 😊
Today has felt like a long one, but fortunately it is now the weekend! Woohoo!
Not that exciting - tomorrow involves a big road trip to the vets 🙄 Rusty chicken is off her food and looking a bit not-at-her-best, and Bonnie has laid a few soft shelled eggs recently, which needs sorting out.
Last time we took Rusty and Bessie together and they were a LOT more relaxed about the experience. Rusty and Bonnie aren't good pals really (one older and one younger) so we may end up taking ALL of them - an old lady basket and a young teenager basket 🙄 Bloody ridiculous but there we are. Not looking forward to it (especially not looking forward to catching the younger two - I don't think we've ever managed to pick them up 🙄). But needs must.
Plastering is going well though, one more day!9 -
Looks like we'll then have a whole week without anyone here, as all the plastering will be done, and the builder is going away for half term, and the plumber's van is broken 🙄.
I'll be at work of course, but will try to get as much painting done upstairs, and as much cleaning and clearing done downstairs, so everything is ready for kitchen installation the week after 😁 might not happen, but it won't be because we're not ready!
Nowt financial to report. Vet is likely to be expensive tomorrow 🙄8 -
Oh, there is one financial thing to report - I forgot to cancel the bloody Hello Fresh box, so we've got an extra full price one today, that I didn't even select the meals for 🙄 I've cancelled it now though. At least it gives us something easy to offer as a guest option at the weekend!8

2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
I'm pretty stressed myself with this many people going in and out for so long 🙄 and poor Mr Cheery is struggling. Keep holding on to the fact that it will be worth it in the end... Tomorrow will be the end of week 9 😮😮 and while we've not had people in every day, it was every day for the first 7 weeks or so, then uncertainty and mess and not knowing til the morning sometimes whether anyone would be here 🙄
Not my most fun time I confess, but I'm repeating over and over 'it will be over soon, it will be worth it in the end'...
I'm looking forward to the painting though, I like painting 😁😁 especially looking forward to painting the gold walls 😁😁 so that's next week's job, plus FINISHING THE DAMN KITCHEN CEILING!! AARRGGHH!! 😂😂
Still not picked colours for downstairs, and that won't be dry enough for another few weeks anyway.8 -
Sigh. Council geezers came down just as we were going out this morning, saying they were putting tarmac on the road - we said we were leaving anyway, and back at 11 - they said that would be fine and we'd be able to get back in (and out again later with the chickens).
Got back at 11 - and the tarmac lorry was still there and they were just laying the surface 😡 lorry was late apparently - no, we can't get past, and it will be another hour and a half.
Mr Cheery livid, and instead of parking on the road and walking home with me, has just driven off to sit in a layby somewhere.
I trampled round the obstruction (they let me tiptoe over the final bit of tarmac) and am now trying to sort out this building site bedroom so our friends can sleep in it tomorrow.
Could do without this when we also have to sort baskets/car for chickens ready to leave at 1pm. Won't be able to get car in til 12.30 now, which means I'll have to sort baskets etc ready for when Mr Cheery gets in with the car.
Most vexing on all counts 🙄7 -
It’s a nuisance isn’t it. Lots of tarmaccing been going on here too. Hope you get it sorted out xxx7
