Cheery's country living adventure

Don't know what happened to my list - all the formatting has gone wonky and it looks like I've barely crossed anything off! Will edit when I'm on the laptop.
Yes, I'm pleased about the sink - it's the one thing that we've got for free in all this 😂😂
Lovely afternoon with pals - knocked up a couple of the remaining hello fresh meals so lunch was nicely healthy, apart from the bag of pastries they bought 😂 One friend and I spent a couple of hours scything and dragging around hay, and went down to the bottom field to collect the tent. Feel like I've done a full day of hard labour - I am so unfit right now!
Mr Cheery was meant to be coming with me to work then continuing on to visit family tomorrow. He's decided to stay here and do some DIY stuff before the builders come back, which is fine - except I didn't book a parking permit because I wasn't going to need one, but now I do, and there are none left 🙄 Not a crisis, I'll drive round a bit and park further away if I have to, it's just a bit of a nuisance.
Nowt else to report I don't think. Not got anything obvious for lunch tomorrow so need to fix something up so i don't end up in the cafe.9 -
Hey Cheery, hope all is well... I mean, you're entirely entitled not to come on here for a few days, but it is unlike you, so just checking!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hello Mrs - just catching up on kitcheny stuff, great news about the overestimations of costs there! Reading all about yours reminds me a little too chillingly of our chaos though - urgh!
Hoping some of your Premium Bond success rubs off on me when the next drawer comes along - although I'd be astonished if we win anything for a good long while until things have built up a bit more!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

😂😂😂 Gosh I must be in here a lot if I inspire a search party after being missing for 48 hours 😮😂😂
Truth is, I did sneak in 😂 I just didn't have time to post - outrageous I know! I was at work early on Monday, then had literally 5 minutes at home to get changed before running club, and didn't get back again til 8 and was worn out .
Today Mr Cheery has been out all day (and is still not back, although is on the way) - I've worked like a demon, and had a 4.5 hour video call this afternoon 😮 did nip out to visit my friend who's just got out of hospital though - an escapade in itself, since the council had closed the road, so I'd had to park on the other side, which was about half a mile away 😂 walked back because I had to assume it was still shut because I was short of time but it was open and I was overtaken by the postie.
Anyway, blah blah. Builder coming tomorrow (sorry for inspiring memories of your own kitchen chaos EH!) I was hoping he'd be here early so I could see him before going out, but apparently he's waiting for a delivery so I'll miss him.
What else? Covid vouchers have arrived, so I'll print them tomorrow and transfer the money to the kitchen fund - that will take us over 70%. Ooh, and my new PIN arrived so I can finally use my new bank card. Will need to sort out how much I've spent from the other account and transfer it, but not tonight.
Not done any MB this week, or last week - need to get back on the case soon, and get Mr Cheery signed up to some more places. Will make a start at the weekend.
Got a hair cut tomorrow at the local college - first time in about 4 years 😮😮 I don't do hair cuts very often 😂😂 It's really long, pretty much down to my bum now, and I usually just tip my head over and use one of those spirit level clip things and lop the ends off, but the front is just ridiculous at the minute and the whole thing needs a tidy up - then I'll be good for another 4 years 😂😂 Hopefully won't cost too much - it's training for the students (and it's start of term so I think they'll be fairly inexperienced) and I'm not having anything complicated done.
Right, enough waffling, need to find some tupperware to take tomorrow's lunch, but where the flip is it all?? I've got two lids and literally nothing else. I fear it has all been used for chicken treats... but I did wash a load a couple of weeks ago - where did I put the clean stuff??8 -
It all sounds rather busy with you Cheery, I'm not surprised you didn't have time to post. Please don't think I was hassling you - just you're normally such a presence in these parts that it was unusual not to hear from you for a couple of days
Hope the hair cut goes well. I thought I was bad only getting mine done once a year!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I'm up to over 2 years without a hair cut now - its driving me bonkers though, and I nearly strangled myself turning over in bed last night, so I'm going to have to grit my teeth and book something soon. The local college is a good shout actually - hopefully they'll be too busy concentrating on cutting to talk as well...

About once a year I get my sister to trim my hair.
The number of times my hair has attempted to strangle me in the night, to combat this I now sleep with my hair in a bun on the top of my head.

Lol you lot! Glad it's not just me with my wayward hair! 😂😂
It was actually quite a nice experience, surprisingly enough! The woman I had had been a hairdresser years ago before she had kids, and was coming back to get a new qualification. It took absolutely forever though- when she got the hair straighteners out after 1 hour 45 mins I had to check she wasn't doing anything drastic because I had to leave to drive to work 😂
Still, 2 hours, £18, and I have a nice simple cut I'm happy with - still long (but not down to my backside), long layers, shaped at the front, and much easier to wear down, which is what I wanted.
Went straight to work and nobody noticed, because I usually wear it up anyway 😂😂10 -
