Love the relaxing chickens - Mr CD is a big softy, isn't he!
I did an aqua class (love being the youngest in the class ) this morning and managed 12 lengths of the 25m pool - I am not a fast or elegant swimmer! - you need to make time to go - I always promise myself that if I'm not 'feeling it' after ten mins, I will leave - I rarely do!
2014 starting mortgage £165,000
2015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in full
RT, what an experience with your OH and the workmen today! Dear me
Cheery, the pic you uploaded is so beautiful! Thank you for that
Downsized and paid off mortgage 2010 Retired August 2016 Paid off French mortgage September 2018 New kitchen fully installed June 2019 Not counting this! 2020 Garden fencing completed, woohoo 2021.......... October 2021: aiming for £5,000 new money for premium bonds or a car.
Chigle, I managed 20 lengths of our 25m pool this morning! A big part of why I'm not going too often is that it's so darn difficult to get a slot! Still having to book them in advance, and they go so quickly you need to book a week in advance (or go at 6am, which I'm not doing). I had to cancel a couple last week with last minute visitors.
Still, I've realised that there are often a couple of cancellations on the day...
And today I booked for 8-8.45, didn't get there til 8.40, nobody batted an eye, nobody threw me out at 8.45, or at all. The lane didn't have 10 people in. In fact I could have just walked straight in without even swiping my card as there's no barrier, and there was nobody on reception. So I'm tempted to just pop in next time!
Grr. Had a text this morning saying we were due a parcel today. No tracking number or recognisable firm, but I ordered something yesterday with next day delivery, so when that arrived at lunchtime I assumed the text was referring to that.
Got a phone call later - I assumed from the electricity company trying to give me a smart meter so I ignored it, but I've just listened to the message and it was a parcel delivery firm saying they've tried but we weren't in - same reference as the text.
Hmm... a scam?! They didn't ask for money, just to rearrange. I've searched, and there's a possibility it's the radiators - but they weren't due til next week...
Yawn, someone else to ring in the morning.
Also noticed the car has blown a headlight bulb today so need to sort that before we drive across the country on Friday (and our local Halfords closed down so I can't just take it there).
And I've been carrying a parcel round all week and FINALLY made it to the post office today - only to find it was closed because the only member of staff (yes, there's just one) is off ill. Woman in the village shop reckons he's got covid, so it'll be shut a while.
So tomorrow - light bulb - rearrange parcel - different post office - return spare swimming costume - fill in expenses claim for that research I took part in - possibly ring the covid research people - we seem to have dropped off the list and I was relying on that to top up my kitchen fund! - buy spare kettle - put this degrease stuff on the kitchen floor, then re-seal it
Put the industrial cleaner on the kitchen floor - can't say it's more effective than washing up liquid... but whatever. Going to mop it off in a minute.
Rang delivery people - it is the radiators, and they said the driver came at 3l4pm yesterday - but we were here and he didn't 😡 anyway, a different driver has been today and the mystery has been solved - he DID come yesterday, but in a large truck, and took one look at the drive and drive off 🙄 sent a van today so it's all fine.
Just need to quit loafing around and get on now! So, a plan for the afternoon...
1.30-2 clean and rinse kitchen floor, leave to dry
2-2.45 - help Mr Cheery clear space for cladding in the garage and move it all
2.45-3.30 - put first coat of sealant on kitchen floor and leave to dry
3.30-4.15 - change headlight bulb
4.15-5 - second coat of sealant
5-5.30 - clear more stuff out of offshot
5.30-6.15 - chickens shut in and medication done
6.15-7.30 - clear kitchen and make tea
7.30 - nice bath
Not all of those things will take that long but that gives me a bit of structure and if I finish one early I can stop for a cuppa!
That is cheeky to say they tried to deliver but you were out when you were in and decided not to attempt going to your house.
I was reading your afternoon plan but as I was reading it I was concerned about the lack of tea break, glad to see you have this covered.
Does Mr C. also make plans or does he do the same as my OH and happily fill his time on things he enjoys instead of thinking if anything is pressing unless I asking how or when X is being done. He doesn't mind doing just never sees what needs doing.
